When I was a teenager the last thing I could ever imagine doing was to listen to music from the 19th century. So for today's teenagers, I would like to introduce you to music from 1955 your grandparents era. I'd love to hear your honest opinion of it.

I'm pretty sure this is the first record Elvis ever released. I'm also quite sure many young people have never heard it before.

Here's another one from 1955 not just teens but probably a lot of seniors never heard this one. I think the ladies will like this one.

Six years later in 1961 The Lion Sleeps tonight.

This is a song which perpetuates the myth that the Lion is King of the Jungle. In reality Tigers are Kings of the jungle and Lions live on open plains. rolling on the floor laughing

This song was the absolute biggest hit in Quebec in 1955, you wont understand a word of it unless you speak French. To the best of my knowledge it's about a dude putting the moves on some chic.

This was one of my favorite songs back in 55. It was actually the B side of his biggest hit song.

well, I have music of Fats Domino, Chubby Checker and Ray Charles, also jefferson Airplane, Herman's Hermits, Buddy Holly and The Hollies.
Most bands where gone when I was born in 1968. But that's okay, just like their music.

I'll never forget seeing Buddy Holly perform on stage when I was a teenager. The audience didn't want him to stop singing. He was the true king of R&R.

This is one of those lesser known truly great love songs from a lesser known group which is kinda sad.

BTW, How would you like to pick up your new date in a car like that?

This was huge in the 50's & 60's. I kinda wish people would say something about the stuff I'm putting up good or bad. Sometimes I feel like I'm playing with myself.

No. 1 on the charts in several countries during it's time. I never get tired of hearing this song! Tragically, Kyu Sakamoto was killed in a plane crash.

It seems the utube site is having trouble which is why all the links aren't working, they should have it fixed pretty soon. I've just learned another useful lesson. From now on I'm going to post the title of the song along with any utube links in case they go down again in the future. I suggest we all do the same.
