CossackCat: Lawmakers in Missouri are considering legislation that would make it legal to create a Missouri Minutemen, a group of legal gun owners who could be called to action by the governor.
On Tuesday, state senators discussed S.B. 258, which would establish “that there shall be the minutemen of the state which shall be called into service by the governor for use in defense during a state of emergency with consent of two-thirds of the General Assembly.”
NOT to be confused with a "Constitutional Militia" or Patriots, to protect citizens of state.

Oh boy, here we go...
maybe a small force of limited number, I might be able to see it. on second thought, that's what a security detail is for.
big mistake if it's an actual size for a fighting force. states already have a force for that purpose and more; it's call the national guard.
the bill doesn't make any rhyme or reason to be a thought. a wrong route if for protecting rights. this bill could be a double edged sword and worse if it's true. the people still haven't wised up as to who are biggest threat is. there's a reason why the threat keeps attacking the 2nd amendment rights.
it's also a potential, primary reason, why we haven't been invaded much in the home land other than the demonrat voters they're trying to let in.
states can over ride federal with the proper governing body. no need for a state to have minutemen under government control. every legally armed citizen is pretty much already in that category if the country is threatened; (and it is with what's considered a majority in congress and has been allowed to weasel into the executive branch). at the point of realization, every one knows government control is the last thing any one will want.

I like almost everything I read in this S.B. Except two things. I don’t like the commentary in the closing paragraphs and unless the state provides the following, I don’t like this statement much: “ Additionally, volunteers’ firearms, accessories, ammunition, uniforms, equipment and supplies would be considered state property”.
