I think I'd be an excellent husband and a great dad, but it took a long time to smooth my corners and mellow me out. Though I look young for my age, who would marry me? What woman thinks like women did when I was in my prime?

Your're husband material..Those who only hang around when the going is good are selfish people not husband material at all..Or any kind of relationship for that matter..In saying all that she should do the exact same thing for you because to her she knows your worth the effort..When a man or woman doesn't make any effort it means neither are any kind of marriage or relationship material
I can do those things believe it or not lol, I just been a bachelor for so long that marriage is something I would have to learn, usually by pulling of teeth style but if I loved someone enough to marry her, she wouldn't have to question my resolve because after my tantrum, common sense usually clicks in and I go from there.------ This thread is Archived ------

I have never been married but I know it would of been lovely to have all that you had..I think for me as much as it's important a man doesn't cheat the same can be applied for a man always being there for me to support me emotionally..I'm human and if I'm only good enough when all is roses I would prefer to live my life aloneMy marriage wasn’t always roses...but, we stood behind each other in the good and bad times...

Orzzz: True. But from the way I was raised and see, neither are many women wife material. The points mentioned often fit women too. Mothers cause many of the problems. My first husband was raised spoiled by mommy. The boys could do no wrong and sis got to do the work. He was a Peter Pan. Wanted to work if he felt like it and go play. I came home from work one day to find him sitting at the table. I asked whats up? He said waiting for me to come home to make him a sandwich. I said how long have you been sitting there...an hour... When I told my parents dad said, "what? He couldn't figure out which side of the bread to butter?"
My second husband didn't know how to be a husband. But after a neighbor wife read him the riot act...he saw how he was being and changed. And for 31 years was perfect. Mostly anyway.
If women want a husband, then they need to be a wife. And todays society has put those roles down as useless, a waste, silly and demeaning.
