Heyy yoo all !! wave

Let's imagine !!
You were at work and you had some "Exchange of Opinions" with your Boss , which ended up into "Heated Conflicts" .. very mad

( Important note : Employer and Employee could belong to Any Gender.. Don't be Predetermined about that Genders !! wink )

Now , after the "Conversation" , when you returned to your seat , you were feeling sooo irritated that you started using some "Really Bad Words" for your Boss with a low-pitched voice !!

But , unfortunately , you had no idea that , exactly that moment , your Boss came out of the chamber and stood right behind you silently !!

So , when you finally "Discovered" with all your surprises , that , this whole time your Boss was standing right behind you , carefully listening all those "Adjectives" you were using to address your Boss , it was too late !!! uh oh

Now , I am asking to all of you for Suggestions , that ,

How to Manage the Situation after all this Disaster took place !!??? dunno

Also , you can share your personal experience in this matter , If anything like this ever happened to you too ?!

How did you Manage it or Were you Able to Manage it at all !!???
What was the consequences after all ???!! hmmm

Please feel free to share all your suggestion/experience in this regard ...

Have fun !! cheers

Once you argued with someone, and the conversation is over that should have been the end of it, any other extra stuff after you mumbled that you thought he didn’t hear, but heard it should be a apology

You have to be out of your mind to get in an argument with your Boss.

When you disagree with what he/she said it is better to make a suggestion instead of telling the Boss that they are wrong.

My last boss was an elder attorney who was very set in her ways. Often she would say how she wanted me to do something and I would make a suggestion how the project could be organized better but she always said.....no, do it this way.....and that's what I did without any further suggestions.

I think the scenario you proposed is more in the construction field of men wearing hard hats.

Would not apologize for that.

I'd try to say something funny, or boldly honest.
Hmmm, lemme see, one of these maybe:
- well if you love me any less now I'll be disappointed!
- honesty, can you dig it?
- ahh don't pretend you don't hate me too right now!
- oh don't worry, my last boss was even worse... rolling on the floor laughing

from real life there was a boss nobody liked where I worked, his name was Knut.
He was finally leaving - so over an artificial cake n coffee moment that was
as halfhearted as anything else he did.. damn awkward..
I just had to state "well, now you don't have to see us anymore either!" grin

secretagent09: Not necessarily so Dude. If an employee is under a contract with his/her employer then a reason does need to be established for termination. But the majority of people employed are "At Will" meaning they can be fired for any reason. I saw a situation where the boss fired someone because he didn't like the guy.

At-Will Defined
At-will means that an employer can terminate an employee at any time for any reason, except an illegal one, or for no reason without incurring legal liability.
Likewise, an employee is free to leave a job at any time for any or no reason with no adverse legal consequences.

So ok, yes I was wrong and do stand corrected: an employer CAN terminate an At-Will employee at any time for any reason, except an illegal one, or for no reason without incurring legal liability

But quite a grey area it would seem as ....
'Despite the apparent ambiguity that accompanies at-will status, numerous federal and state laws restrict employers’ abilities to fire at-will employees'

....and:
'Employment at Will' Isn't a Blank Check to Terminate Employees You Don't Like

I'm sure though anyone fired who wants recompense, can call a lawyer or attorney!
They can file a retaliation claim, a discrimination claim or a similar action.

Being in the legal field this is an area I know something about.
I suggested to the employee who was fired that he seek an attorney and he did. The attorney told him point blank you can't do anything about it. Even if the employee's history in that job was positive, i.e. always on time at work, finished projects in a timely manner, jot along with other employees, always got a raise every year, etc. there still wasn't a way to reinstate him at the job.

The fact that he was fired allowed him to collect unemployment which infuriated the boss.

Sorry Dude, it really is a blank check when you want to get rid of an employee.handshake

I know legals too, certainly not everything worldwide but these are legal facts:

Employment At Will is normal in the USA, but has an exception in Montana, where employers CANNOT fire employees for any reason, or no reason at all, as in all other US states (currently) that still adhere to the At-Will doctrine of employment.

In the UK however, all employees ARE protected as 'Employed at will' is NOT legal in the UK

‘Zero hours contract’ might be considered 'employed at will' but it's a non-legal term used to describe many different types of casual agreements between an employer and an individual.

Generally speaking, a zero hours contract is one in which the employer does not guarantee the individual any hours of work.
The employer offers the individual work when it arises, and the individual can either accept the work offered, or decide not to.
BUT, everyone on a zero hours contract is entitled to statutory employment rights.
There are NO exceptions!

A person will benefit from the employment rights associated with their employment status and individuals on a zero hours contract will either have the employment status of a ’worker’ or an ‘employee’.

There is no 'At Will' employment in the UK
(Anyone thus employed in one, should report it to the HMRC)

You know what Grand !

Actually in such scenario , the chances will be that , the Boss would be the one , who will feel most devastated by knowing the shocking truth that what kind of "Titles" were used by the subordinate to complement the "Reputation" of the Boss !! wink

Rules in India likely to differ from those US/UK legals (plus I have limited knowledge of Indian law!) but found this rather good PDF which may be of use, should you or anyone else need it?

uh oh
Links are usually forbidden in the forum, but I'm sure they would mind this helpful guide being posted:

I work an extremely high stress job. Usually this behavior takes place in front of your boss. They give you a moment (usually till the next day) and say "feel better" My boss usually gets a look on her face laugh I know she is as stressed as anyone else there. And her look says it all. It says "really" laugh And then we handle it by drinking beer after work and saying to each other "Wow what a day that was" And we then try to motivate each other into a more positive attitude. dunno It works for us. If they fired employees for that behavior there we sure wouldn't have very many. I love my job and most the people I work with. I have always liked a fast pace high functioning job. And have managed to keep my employment there a very long time . peace

Exactly !! I mean , any experienced Boss would have known better that , they can not be the Public Pleaser always... No matter right or wrong , someone somewhere somehow will always find an issue to talk about behind their back !!

So , instead of making every little thing a big deal , they would most probably handle the matter with more practical and rational approach obviously ... conversing
