I stay indoors during the peak heat of the day...then I wear my shorts and tee and sit outside or do some work outside....I'm fair skinned...almost porcelain, me and heat don't mix.....I do enjoy a good day but I almost need there to be some breeze to go with it.
KarloradoFL: I also drink a lot of water, coffee, diet sweet iced tea, and diet soda. Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!
Coffee, tea, sweet iced tea and any soda are major dehydrators. Stick with water. You can also add lemon or lime juice to your water for a flavour boost.
bodleing2: In the uk when the temperature rises above a certain point for three days in a row it's officially labeled a heat wave. Anything over 20C and I want to be by the sea or maybe in it. Today marks the third day of high temps, so it's officially a heatwave. With a forecast of even higher temperatures this week and into next week I have no option but to take myself to my favourite campsite by an eoght mile long beach in beaitiful Snowdonia; North Wales.
It's the only way I can cope.
What do you do when the heat is on?
To be totally honest, I'm not feeling the "heat" I still have my duvet on my bed, I was still wearing thick fleecy PJ's the other day. Probably because I'm still not acclimatised to the Uk weather Certain Countries know what their weather will be like, unlike the Uk, it's bit like a hit and miss here In Spain "sorry to mention that Country" the Spanish people tend to shed their clothing's in June whether it hot or not, they then put on their winter clothing's on around October/November time. When I lived in Spain I just used to soak a cotton sarong in the sink, wrap it around me and then just sit under my ceiling fan, job done I've never encountered a "Hose Pipe Ban" in Spain, I could be wrong though
Haven't had to worry about the heat being on in a few years but back in the day, I would keep low and wait till the heat relaxes, then back to business.

Jeannineanne: I love it hope it stays with us for a few weeks
Nah. I cannae go to me bed cos of the heat. Sat in the garden trying to decide whether to take a quilt off or turn the leccy blanket down. Roll on August and the winter weather.
At work I just have on a pair of steel toecap shoes(needed for work) with no socks, builder type shorts (plenty of pockets) and a work tee-shirt. At home I am naked . but I am still hot.

There’s a lot of “odd bods” in your part of the country & you are no exception !
