Tiger_Moth: As sad as I am I saw this and it melted my heart.
Regardless of any legit criticism of the system, Queen Elizabeth earned the world's respect.

She shouldered her position and conducted her life with grace, courage and dignity.

So good to see that there are people in this World who saw our late Queen for who she was , a loyal ,caring responsible woman who took her role seriously for 70 years and as Exred stated right up until 2 days before her passing.

Now that's what I call devotion to her Country.bouquet

Our contingent has arrived in London for Her Majesty's funeral, including our Prime Minister Anthony Albenese and other invited members of our country, including representation of our indigenous people of course.

I haven't checked when coverage of the funeral commences here yet but I know I'll be incredibly sad and tearful during the course of it blues

A sad but very well drilled service , which was fitting for such a great icon .
Her memory will live long in our minds & throughout history .
The only problem I had was when they played the national anthem, with “king” as a pose to queen , while the queens coffin was still at large .
Maybe that was just me .

For me, breaking the Wand of Office over her coffin symbolized the end with finality. Both services were magnificent, but the service in St. George's chapel was very poignant. It's hard to believe we won't see her anymore.

suziecute: She was originally to be princess consort, as Philip was prince consort, but QE2 specifically asked that she be accepted as queen consort.

Usually widow of the reigning monarch becomes queen mother to the next, I thought yesterday that she could become the first ever queen stepmother ...
There have been several queen step-mothers. Think Mary Tudor, Henry VIII's wives, etc...

But wouldn't it have been a bit awkward to sing "God save the queen" as she was passed on already?confused

. I saw the look on the king's face. The void inside which I sill feel for my mother. Never mind sir. I said. I miss her too.we all miss her. The only thing I regret about the queen was.that she had no privacy. She was always hounded by cameras. Even in her own garden. With. Her family.very mad

I thought Princess Anne looked the most bereft, she looked in a state of shock and detachment throughout the entire funeral proceedings.
