It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States.

What are you doing today?

Does it mean it mean anything to you?

Did it ever mean anything to you?

Is it just the 4th of July to you, and a day to barbeque?

How does Independence day now, compared to the past?

Have you noticed the increased banning of fireworks?

Have you noticed that political figures and MSM actually seem to be discouraging, or even acknowledging, or mentoning "Independence Day"?

Remember when our flags were everywhere?

Remember when people wore, red, white and blue?

Remember when people actually said "Independence Day"?

How much longer do you think "Independence Day" will exist - Global Citizen?

So many questions. Yes, it means something to me.

My ancestor fought at the famous battle of Burke County Jail, Georgia, in the revolution. I am free because of ancestors like him.

As for third world fireworks, this a Darwin Award weekend.

i think i'm going to ad another question or more based off an article i browsed through.

can anti-gun advocates celebrate and appreciate Independence Day? after all, britain wanted our guns from the start.

are they aware of any thing in history these days to understand how and why we're celebrating it?

do they understand that they also have a right to leave if they hate the country and citizens so much that our Constitution doesn't matter to the point they won't even stand for the flag and pledge of allegiance?

so much is so backwards and all the wrong things twisted, pushed, and lied about.

Does it mean it mean anything to you?
YES

Did it ever mean anything to you?
FREEDOM

Is it just the 4th of July to you, and a day to barbeque?
NO

How does Independence day now, compared to the past?
THE PAST WAS SO MUCH BETTER WITH BACKYARD BARBECUES AND THEN GOING TO HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS TO WATCH FIREWORKS

Have you noticed the increased banning of fireworks?
JUST THIS MORNING I HEARD THAT DRONES WILL REPLACE FIREWORKS. I'M VERY HAPPY ABOUT. I HATE THE NOISE FROM FIREWORKS AND THE DRONES MAKE A BEAUTIFUL SHOW

Have you noticed that political figures and MSM actually seem to be discouraging, or even acknowledging, or mentoning "Independence Day"?

Remember when our flags were everywhere?
YES YES YES

Remember when people wore, red, white and blue?
USUALLY WOMEN

Remember when people actually said "Independence Day"?
NEVER HEARD IT CALLED ANYTHING DIFFERENT

How much longer do you think "Independence Day" will exist - Global Citizen?

On this day, I also celebrate the first president of this land who in just one year managed to “remove all foreign (hostile) troops from American lands, as well as their flags. He also introduced the Treasury Department, the first Secretary of War, and the first Foreign Affairs Department. He led the flight to guarantee the statehood of the Western Territories beyond the Appalachian Mountains that had been controlled by some of the original thirteen colonies.” He also is responsible for designating Thanksgiving Day as the fourth Thursday in November. Thank you John Hanson!

Good for you Packers...that is what holidays are for...spending time with family.

When my children were young, I would go watch the fireworks...

It is too much of a hassle now...the town I grew up in has grown into a small city...I don’t want to deal with the traffic jams for a few minutes of fireworks now.

It's the neighbors with firecrackers that bother me, they start about 5pm and keep going till 2am. Just seems so inconsiderate. What about sleeping babies, scared kids, older people, all the cats hiding , and the poor dogs that need tranquilizers doh
