According to the Dems and brandon, the country is on the ups. The economy is booming which is the platform they are pushing for the 24 election.
But, then the news mentions the fact that people are tapping 401Ks and credit cards. The card debt is the highest in a long time. The reason...people refuse to cut back, do without, or economize.
Now, jobs go begging. Yet the unemployment is down. Maybe..just maybe..it is because in summer, there are a ton of temporary jobs to fill the needs of tourism? And maybe, comes fall and cold, those jobs will go bye bye?
People will run out of disposable money. Max out the credit cards which it seems, they can't figure out they WILL have to pay the piper.frustrated
Went to wally world for the first time in months and months. Prices on some goods are still out of line to what I will pay. Bite me! Don't need, won't buy. The super center has done a total make over. The old game of hunt for it and by the way, buy this you passed on the hunt. There are a bunch more checkouts...double rowed. Self service was used but the bulk were in the checker ones. Now why add a gazillion registers when they only open a few?confused
I saw more shoppers buying a few items than full carts. I found a throw on clearance that I looked for on sale last FALL. So they still hadn't sold and after 6 months gave in. Prices are high..1.58 for a dozen eggs when others are at a buck. I have hens so don't really care.
I predict this winter brandons dreams will go down the toilet. People will be laid off or fired. Heating costs will hit people. People will run out of disposable cash and hunker down for winter. This will cause concern so it will snowball as people are filled with doubts about a recession.uh oh

It seems that you are hoping the economy will fail. I find it interesting that you can understand your power in this economy: comparison shop; don't buy high priced goods; substitute goods for others that are high priced; refuse to pay high prices. Yet, you seek a simple solution - Blame one man for high prices. Your crystal ball has a crack in it - there is no magic bullet to bring prices back to 1965. Wages go up; prices go up; the economy moves and changes - so should you!

Tell my a time in your life when prices were perfect? Remember that time when you made more money than you needed? The time that you had so much money you didn't have to worry? Yeah - I didn't think so - if you don't understand economics and your role in the economy - you really shouldn't be predicting the future.

At this stage of life, I have no money worries. Can pay for whatever. But, my dad lived through the inflation after WW1. He was paid at noon and went to the factory gate along with co-workers to hand the money to whatever relative was waiting. Those relatives ran to the store to buy anything. He was paid again at quitting time and did the same. The Mark was losing money by the hour. Women went to the store with a basket of bills to buy bread and milk. He predicted this country would go that path.
I started out making $1.35 an hour. Gas was .28 during the gas wars and we still had to do .50 at a time. When I made $11 an hour I was in hog heaven.
Used to spend $20 and walk out with 2 or 3 bags of groceries. Now get 3 items. I can spend what I want. But, refuse to get ripped off.
The idiot thinking is that people need higher wages. Without stopping to think that when wages go up, prices go up. They make more money til can't afford to buy the item they produce. Owners will not cut profits. So it is a never ending climb until we fall off the other side.
No Biden is not the only cause. He is just a puppet for the Democrat aristocracy. He is the senile chump who gets to stand up, or fall over, and read the script he is told too.
And I don't care if things fall apart comes winter. I am a prepper/survivalist, well armed and well stocked. No debt, no mortgage, no medical bills, or anything else. But, I will feel sorry for the working poor who will suffer. And laugh my butt off at the spend thrift spoiled ones who refuse to conserve or do without their $1000 phone and hundreds of dollar concert tickets and $6 lattes. I will watch the riots of illegals when they get tossed out of hotels the homeless vets can get or working poor and the blacks who get ticked off cause their ice cream is locked with chains.

Doom and gloom. Can't wait for the sky to fall so we don't need to pay high prices.Let's blame Biden.
Inflation is like the 1920's - can't make enough to pay for groceries.....

Did I summarize it enough for you?

There is alot to unpack here - but let's focus on history, since your only source is your dad...who had a job and gave his money to his relatives.....sooooo..unless your dad grew up in the Weimar Republic of Germany during the 1920's (you don't say where he lived) the United States did not suffer from inflation during the Roaring 20's. In fact, the rate of inflation from 1920 to 1929 was an average of 0%. There were periods of disinflation (prices decreased) and inflation ( prices increased) over the 10 year span of 1920-29. We all know what happened in October of 1929 when the markets crashed and unemployment rose to 25%.

Anyway, nice of you to supply an anecdote to support your feeling of woe. However, the facts are better support for truth. Let's try to stick to the facts and keep your melancholy between you and your poor dad.

the economy is crap.

costs going up and very little to nothing coming down. prices ofr gas alone have reached about $4 a gallon in my area. haven't had to go shopping for a couple of weeks and at least one more to go before i do, to see the damages there; again.

remember that uranium deal demonrats made with russia? the u.s. just might become one of it's biggest customers thanks to the demonrat party and their puppet, o'biden. that 1 million plus acre "monument" is gonna cost us dearly.

funny. executive order against china for the electronic chip industry and such but the hag in michigan is welcoming them with open arms against the peoples' wishes. the puppet's E.O. is just another show tune.

many damages in place and more to come as always. don't worry. they'll fight for non-citizen voting in some areas to help them over ride the legal voters. china will still get it's physical fingers into the u.s. russia will still gain business regardless of what they say the ruble is worth.

the same people that made deals with and for them will continue to get rich while the country and citizens are continually pushed further down. even now, funds for ukraine are more important than what the clowns should be doing for the u.s. and citizens. ever wonder how those billions along with upholding their oath to the u.s. and constitution might have accomplished for all the citizenry? i don't because his predecessor did uphold all and things were 50x better than now in spite of the media and demonrat lies.

preach the lies to keep the cover ups rolling all any one wants. demonrats ARE the doom and gloom for the country and citizens.

i've learned much over the decades. first and only union shop in my life but who ever they support, make sure to vote for the other guy. the other guy most likely won't pour tens of billions of tax dollars to bail out their pension funds.

no one can cover the damages that keep piling up. but kudos to those that still try and lie for 'em.

Hooha: Hello, inflation was caused by printing money and cutting oil production. Walmart and Amazon are competing for customers they want low prices but Biden policy is the problem
Blame the President as eveyone who is a sore loser always blames the Democrats when Republicans haven't worked for anyone but cutting their taxes and telling women what to do with their bodies. They are not doing one darn thing for the 98 percent and you know it. Since the 1960's it has been terrible with these Republicans in office blocking everything. Gun violence is horrible and Republicans turn a blind eye, they will not help with a better Healthcare system. They could careless about Climate Change. --Biden's policies are what now? Where are you getting this info about Amazon and Walmart? I need facts not talk and you don't have the facts and know it. Why don't you look at how Republicans want to take us back to the 1930's. I am not willing to go there and I do not want to hear Dump did not get voted out for many reasons. It was scary with Dump in office, and he lost for many reasons

Guess what El Presidenta..my dad fought for Germany in WW1..for the Kaiser. And mom lived through the depression. She saved aluminum gum wrappers for the war effort. And stood in line when they handed out food in Chicago. Guess the fruit? PRUNES! People were living on little food and the kind government hands them prunes.
I started work at 18 for $1.35 an hour. Went to a grocery store with a 20 and walked out with 3 bags. Now lucky to get 3 ITEMS when minimum wage is $7.50. And lots are making $15 or more. I paid $65 rent on the upper floor of a house. Now people look at 1200 for an apartment.
So you tell me how great this country is now. Bottom line is the rich will not cut their throats for the peasants. You want a raise...OK...now we raise our prices so you still can't afford what you build.
No...it is not Biden. Or the Dems nor Repubs. It is the aristocracy that runs the world and this country. And the fools who think that any candidate will give a rat's behind for you once in office.
Add the lazy generations who have been pumped up to expect a free ride on the backs of those who earn their money. Who believe the flim flam artists who when asked a question can talk ten minutes and never ANSWER the question.
The cities who said if the government had more minorities, everything would be rosy. And now do and they are scared to walk down the street or enter the shops being shop lifted blind til they close.
I am lucky. I can hole up on my farm, buy what I need and want and let the rats eat each other. Sorry for those who can't and see the truth.doh
