Flames jump and dance
as would-be wits wield words
like clubs all whirling overhead
and the sycophants go oooh
and the gallery goes aaaah
first blood to him, oh no,
to me, to you, who's keeping count?
who's counting coup
in this stupid battle?
There is no right
when wrong is so
widespread that people
dig their graves
to leave their mark before
they're banned;
who cares about these strangers?
Two months ago they were the pack
and now they are the 'victim'
cycle round and rally up the flagpoles
let's not miss the dirt
the nasty fun, the insults that make
a hell for some of us who come
to play, to write, to read,
to meet and greet and maybe
fall in love
with whom?
Rottweilers foaming at the mouth
teeth gnashing at my throat if
I even say hello?
Connecting dots that make
a monster as I collect the threads
that burn so hot
the hope of friendship
keeps going up in flames.
The mirror stands for all,
look up and see
the self all poured
across these pages
is it who you want to be?

It won't. This thread will sink to the bottom faster than one can say 'piss off'.

Very few people will respond to it and I don't keep bumping my stuff up to keep it front and center.

I am one of those quiet voices that cannot out shout the warmongers but I will keep dropping my two cents in.

Well, I can shout more than the warmongers, oh I can be much worse if the need arose, but experience has thought me that its better to ignore these kind of situations that we are seeing lately on the site.

After all, we should be here to make new friends, or maybe more, so what's the use of fighting and arguing?
