Herpes as a disease cant be cured entirely as the virus stays dormant in the ganglia in the body. You can only treat that particular episode and pray it never happens again.
Now its not really dreadful as Herpes can be contracted from someone or by yourself as a reactivation of dormant infection.
But i do believe what you did was right ( personally) cos that was a genuine honest reaction while considering you have never spoken before ... hence there is no kind of consideration in such a situation actually to be expected practically of you by her.

Zellarrone1: This is the type of stunt I''d pull on someone I wasn't really into if I'd been out on a blind date with them.
Maybe it was her polite way of making you lose interest in her.
I usually tell them I have herpes, the clap or that I'm gay and they all react like you did, so it does the trick
Have been times when i've said i'm Gay to get rid of unwanted attention if they wouln't take no for an answer , but found majority of the time that made it worse, because they asked if they could watch !

I think if someone is living with something like herpes, they probably get brushed off a lot, and coming out with the truth is probably hard for them, harder as they keep getting rejected. But, it has to be expected. I personally wouldn't jump into the sack with ANYONE without knowing them EXTREMELY WELL as I don't want to end up with anything... it's too many one night stands and stuff now a days that spreads things.
Recently, I was on a date.....(yes, ME of all people) and after the dinner and a few drinks thing, the gal comes out with....
"I have to tell you something, and it's kind of important....I have herpes."
I was ACTUALLY speechless for a minute. Then, my reply came to me. "Well, I don't think this could end up being a 'we're just friends' thing."
Mind you, it was just a first date....(Set up by a friend---thanks, Brad...) We didn't really talk before that night.
So she said I was a d*ck. But I've been called worse......
the truth hurts...she has a disease that is highly contagious, not just to your dangly bits, but mouth etc....you told her what was on your mind..no harm no foul.... whose the smart one here?
