rwantin: Won't die on my watch.
I'm particularly fond of the Say Something threads for some reason.
Aww thanks!
I peep into those occasionally but always feel as though I am joining the conversation late and no one has time to explain...even when I read from the beginning.
Well it really depends on my mood, sometimes I feel a little silly and just want to have a good laugh, other times I like something that makes me think and figure things out, get others opinions and try to expand my little brain. I can do the political and religious threads, but find it usually turns ugly and I prefer topics that have more significance in day to day life and the reason we're all here... relationships and all the ins and outs and what makes us tick as individuals.
I like to see a variety of threads when I log on even though I'll choose not to participate in many of them. We all have different interests after all. Not everybody is interested in politics, science or religion for example so the humorous threads too are good light relief.
Tonight, the most interesting thread for me was jbibiza's because it was about a personal online dating experience which surely holds interest for many members.
A 'good' thread IMO can often, but not always, be recognised by the title.

Thank you for your thread on your date.
It was interesting to see what people thought about why things did not 'click'.

I think the key word is variety not 'good'.
I try not to judge a thread by its title (not always successfully).
I frequently see a thread in passing that I think 'oh, cool subject, I will check it out later' then when I get back on line it has vanished into past pages, I cannot recall the title or the poster.
why do so many threads of apparent substance just sink into oblivion?

either
I do enjoy your threads,Lady K and Trish's so much new information and challenging
bajanblue: You could start a motorcycle thread yourself I'm sure!
I like subtle humour but as I have a very literal mind I sometimes just miss the point.
Ha ha yeah I would something ... "What do you need to know before you say "Yes" to be a biker's girlfriend." There is a lot behind it ...
Since i am an artist and a Gardener I basically able to find a humour everywere and in everything. My problem is I have too vivid imagination which makes me to see and to feel between the lines. It makes thing complicated ... for me and for others ... sometimes. Since they have no clue why I am laughing.

bajanblue: ...a good thread?
The most popular threads in terms of viewer response seem to be;
'person above threads
CS town threads
word association threads
(dare I say?) gilly's threads
hardluck story threads.
Argumentative religion/philosophy threads
Yet there are always complaints about the quality of the threads.
So...what is a "good" thread?I wonder how many minutes it will take for this one to die :)
Tbh.. I just like threads that get us thinking.. and talking.. I don't really care what the subject is.. though I prefer to actually be talking about SOMETHING.. than a load of blab about nothing in particular.
