Im not really sure Al, but I do know that this issue has the potential to raise a witch hunt against anybody who suffers from bipolar disorder and as many here have said, 'most' people with this condition wouldnt hurt a fly and indeed would sooner hurt themselves first. The person in question was obviously not taking his meds, for whatever reason and then the decision to add alcohol to this mix wasnt taken in sound mind - whatever happens to him, fair enough but Im only saying that you cannot use a 'normal' yardstick to judge an abnormal situation

mental health issues and domestic violence are both very scarry matters.............This will haunt me now till I know of the outcome for the poor woman - and her children must also be going through horrendous torment.... all my positive thoughts go to them

The really sad thing is, will she even WANT to survive? Burns on 90% of her body, she will be in pain for the rest of her life and unrecognizable to her own kids.

I had a best friend one time, she lived just round the corner with her 2 children and her blind, disabled dog - 7th of august one yr, at about 4am there was an insistent knocking at the door, i opened the window to see a police man who was asking if I knew any relatives of this particular friend - I immediately thought she had been drink driving again which I had told her off for doing many times - couldnt think of the addresses but offered to go with the policeman to the home of her childrens father............
this whole incident ended up with quite a few of us at the hospital trying to assimilate the advice of the doctors to pray for her to actually not come round - the brain damage from the smoke would have been one problem, but the fact that both her boys had died she would never be able to bear.........
the dog, for all of his infirmities, walked out of there unscathed...........
This lady wont have to go through such trauma when she pulls through and she will have the knowledge of the fact that her children need her to pull her through....... she will have something to pin her recovery on........

That will be the hard part. The irony is that this was a direct or indirect cause of mental illness and the chances that this girl will come out of this without some mental trauma is unlikely. Imagine the time being spent by social workers to help now, as opposed to being spent before this tragic event .. only an ounce of prevention ...

Oh, that poor soul ............
I know that Catrina would have preferred death to that torment so when the doctors said that apart from the brain damage caused by the smoke inhalation that she would suffer too - I just couldnt imagine living under such conditions - and cos I knew her so well, I knew it would be unbearable for her - so..... I went along with their wishes and hoped for her to go with her beloved boys and all she had held as normal life........
as I said earlier, at least this woman has things to live for - her pain will be managed - but I still am extremely angry at the person who brought this about by his positive actions - Im not a Christian but I hope that he can in some way come to terms with what he had caused...........

.Just dropped in again to say a few things went through my mind after leaving thread.1 is how I am sure an who read this will not complain about much in their lives today.Sad it takes anothers tragedy to sometimes see the blessing we have.2 please anyone out there male or female,if you have been thinking about leaving a domestic viloence situato,please let this be what moves you to get out,no excuses!3 If you are or are close to anyone with a mental illness that needs meds.,please don't miss a dose cause it makes you,tired or dry mouth,etc.,you need to take meds. as described.Many of us have to take meds. for variety of reasons,don't like them,maybe bad effect,but we know if we don'ttake them it can be much worse.If you are close to someone on meds. who is not compliant,check med. box,ask them if they are taking them.If not,call Dr. right away.Last,if Krista lives,she will need skin grafting,physical therapy,occupational therapy,psychiatric therapy,loads of love,fans cheering her on,for a long time.So again,those of you who pray or whatever you do to try to help another ,do it.I have seen what group prayer can do,amazing.Daisy I am sure will keep us updated,let's not forget her.And yo thought your holiday was boring,or ad?I am so thankful I am here now,alone,no goodies I crave,ill,I'll take it all and more to be me now and not in a hospital clinging to life.

I tend to agree, but OJ walked free. Granted he probably can not afford OJ's lawyers (being the house was described as a double wide,,,,,ei a trailer home) but tho he has differnt council the laws are the same.
