Economic recessions are just part of the natural economic cycle.

Remember, the average Brit will have a far higher standard of living during the depths of a recession than the average Cuban at the peak of their economic cycle.

There may be a lot wrong with this country, but there's also a lot that's very good about it too.

I think it's the way the government award people who do nothing - I'm sick of working full time and paying taxes and others can sit at home having lots of babies they can't afford and the government just keeps giving them money and houses.

JamesPond: We've gone soft. Kids rule the streets and you cant give them a slap or you get put on the register.

The P.C brigade cant leave nothing alone.

Murderers/rapists get 'life' sentences and are usually out in about 5 years repeating their offences.

We tolegrate illegal immigrants.

Not enough schools, bobbies on the beat, hospitals or prisons yet taxes are still going up.

The tax on fuel.

I could go on for days here. This government wants the British publics money in any way they can get it. They want us living so we can work, not working so we can live.

The honest, hard working people of Britain get the raw deal and the arseholes who have never lifted a finger in their life get a deent level of living.

Take my friend for example, he has worked and paid taxes all his working life (about 15 years), he just lost his job in the building trade and he doenst get any help from the gov paying his bills/taxes for the temporary period he will be out of work and may lose his house yet someone who doesnt have a job and pays no taxes gets a roof over their head and food put on their table at the expense of my friends hard work over 15 years?! Wheres the justice?!

Britain is a shambles.

i agree with youvery mad

suzyw: the do gooders are whats wrong with this country,,,

Actually, I think we should tackle the "do badders" before the do gooders.

Decent people are decent people, no matter where they come from, so I don't think that running anyone down who doesn't pass the famous "cricket test" is fair.

Unfortunately we have a society that almost accepts violence on the streets as inevitable, with some seeing this as the normal way to go about their lives. Added to that, greed is almost seen as a virtue in business. Whether it be City slickers gambling on stocks with no regard for the results of their actions, or bosses treating their staff like crap to increase profits, it's all leads to a poorer society for us all to live in.

Some famous guy once said that you should do unto others what you would have them do unto you. Basically, respect yourself and respect others. If we could get back to something basic like that, a lot of the other problems would sort themselves out. Hey, whatever happened to that guy?

Meanwhile, back in the real world.........

Seabiscuit: Or we could all start wearing cloths around our heads...

(Sorry if that caused offence it was just an observation. I really do have no problem with immigrants, the older posters, JO and Zella will remember me defending them in a very long drawn out thread a while back)
I remember, I remember applause

You even won awards and a Diplomatic title plus your own personal "Fan Club" bowing not to mention WorldWide fame yay which was only to be expected on the WWW

It was boring yawn

But, the best laugh was it sorta overlapped into a few threads for a few weeks until the grand finale when all the threads ended up getting locked one night and then sank to live rest of their days in the famous CS archives rolling on the floor laughing I'd never seen so many locks on one page before, it really decorated and livened the place up laugh
