If you can't stand smoke or smoking, it would seem unwise to approach a smoker. Maybe that's just me.

My ex did not smoke. I don't know why, but she neither minded nor hounded me about it...ever. It was pretty amazing. I miss her.

IT'S A TOUGH LOVE THING THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TO DO. THEY NEED THE FEEDBACK, IT'S POSITIVE FEEDBACK. IT MAY BE ALL THAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM. YOU HAVE TO BE TRUE TO YOURSELF FIRST, SECONDLY, THAT TRUTH YOU GIVE TO THEM.

hey I don't like drinkers, either!!

I started to smoke on a snowy night driving back from an airport at 2am, felt really tired and the person I just dropped off left a pack in the car. I was 31 I though it would keep me awake through the driving snow and I would get home safe. I did not stop after that and now its wont power not will power, I do not want to quit. My friends tell me they do not think I am a smoker when they come into my home, secret is lots of fresh air. Cigs do not kill your brain cells they may kill other parts of you? Alcohol kills the brain cells and never regenerate themselves. If you enjoy it why not, life is short no matter what you do! Best Wishes

It you live with a smoker you are affected by their habit. You get to breath their smoke. You get to hear their hacking cough and see their yellow smokers teeth. You get to be there when they get lung cancer. You get to watch them spend your hard earned money on expensive packs of cigs instead of shoes for you.

Plus, smokers taste like ash trays when you kiss them. Their clothes stink. Their breath stinks. Their hair stinks. I dated a smoker once but never again.

When you live with a smoker their habit becomes your habit.

Smokers aren't bad people but their habit is a bad habit and I don't want to date a bad habit.

It's not about being reasonable or fair. It's about personal choice. Smokers choose to smoke, their choice. I choose not to date them, my choice.

I smoke wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much when on my own.

My partner smokes only two or three cigarettes per day; and never in her home - when it's freezing cold outside that makes smoking a hard choice!

I cut down drastically when I am with her, and I think it's a good thing.

For those wanting to quit and have a non-smoking partner as an ideal it's very hard - how can you attract a non-smoker if you yourself smell like an ashtray to him/her?

Just like hoping the other person will make you happy isn't going to work if the problem is with you, then this must also be the case as a smoker who wants a clean life - you can't find a person who'll make you quit...... you need to quit yourself and then go find another non-smoker!
