The rest of the world should just be afraid of these threads. We should be finding places of commonalities. Americans will fix America and granted there is much to learn globally and sometimes we haven't listened. I find myself getting in these threads and being defensive and am frankly weary of it. Fight amongst yourselves I will go back to writing my crappy poetry. lol

BarrenPneuma: I agree and if it were not for Emperor type figures like Constantine and Ghengis Khan likely much of the world we know would still stink of piss and disease. We have a decidedly different take on expansion nowadays as the pressures of required lands and resources for our own needs have overtaken the search to better ouselves as humans. Take and destroy all opposed is the law now. Not that destruction was not likewise inherent in the past but there seemed a collective resonance that allowed for acceptance of ideals and foreign skills to use for the whole.
If we land on Mars and there is life already there, how will they feel when they see our true colours. Not racial but filled with greed and malice towards all but our own selves. We will not be treated with any sort of respect if they have followed any part of our primitive ways. There is always a distinct possibility that our self-perceived omnipotence will assure us an enemy that will erradicate us offhand like we have done far too many times. No mercy and nothing but contempt. Then perhaps the Earth can regain some of her former glory when they use it as a vacation land where the savages once roamed.

It will only worry me if they have aluminum foil on their heads.....uh oh

One or both of us havn't been on much lately so want to say good to see you friendsfirst.kiss hug Miss you in forums.

As for all this typing about hating specific groups of people or countries,I will only say this,I have ancestry here in America from beforeanyone else discovered this land.I know of many atrocities done my blood people.Land stolen, rights to live as they had always done taken away.So much more.I am speaking of the native americans .However I hate no one,it only brings a person upset mentally or/and phisically to hate.It accomplishes nothing positve. Each of us as humans are unique. We many times believe and stand for what we learned in our schools and what our elders have taugh us.We all bleed red.sad flower peace

Well step on up about to write one about a lady that I know online who is battling MS but has a big spirit. Her spirit shines even through a few emails on the net. Bet she has no time or energy to get herself into the nonsensical cyclical arguments I have found myself in lately lol.

His eminence, ambassador of the green skinned harlots should be waking in a few hours. He tries to fool us into believing that the foil is to prevent alien intrusion into his mind I am beginning to wonder if it is instead a transmitter or antena? We better come to terms before dawn or he might just send the call for an invasion of our divided peoples. grin

Skybow: There out there just about everywhere, the offended ones who had no part of it so it didn't happen in their world. We have (or should have) at least compassion and respect for all peoples.

And no I didn't go to Berkly, missed Haight Asbury too, had a child instead and didn't think he would fit in there very well.

Exactly...I have tons of compassion....I just never see it much in return...because people would rather stay ignorant than know the truth...and the truth is...history is still here and it will be until all the wrongs have been righted and the injustice has been turned into justice....wave wink wink hug teddybear hug bouquet

WhatUwish4: Hello Skybow!

You're mad, too?

Kidding...

Nope, pretty centered lately. I'd like to dedicate this poem to Indy though, here's one for you Mr. Sensitivity

The look on her face was rapture,
when she heard the flamenco guitar
in the jazz song playing.

She began to dance slowly
subtly moving her body.

Bare shoulders catching the rhythm
that moved down her arms
to her white-bird hands,
describing arabesques.

Tight red dress accenting
the lines she was creating,
that became the music
and a work of art.

Who Hooooo that's really giving 'Peace a Chance' isn't it?

Hugz_n_Kissez: Oh not to mention like I said earlier...these things are not just in the past...but her and now...today...Congratulations Canada....you have a damn good track record and so do your wilfully blind people who choose to be ignorant rather than learn the truth....

The situation in New Zealand sits side by side with the one in Canada in regards to the rights of indigenous people, along with the Australian issue and many others.

You are allowed to be angry and to vent, but unfortunately the reality is that you lost a battle that you could not win. In time people will come to accept that you have suffered and that you are owed apologies and reparation, but it will never be a indigenous nation again.

You must accept that this is how history has turned out and you must move forward to better your own people, show the world that you are a force to be reckoned with. It is futile to attack people who truly did not have anything to do with what happened and it only makes people through brick walls up and turn aside when the subject is raised.

To put it in a context that you have used, if your father were a murderer, would you like to attacked and called a murderer, would you like to treated as though you had been his accomplice, the answer is no.

You must fight for recognition, but accept that it is what it is and move forward. Otherwise you and your people will be stuck in a cycle of hate and will never meet your potential. Just look at the Israel/Palestine situation.

You all have a lot of really good points on both sides but it just seems to bring a lot of bickering. The key to teaching people especially when it comes to the countries of their birth whether you live there or not is balance. To balance the good you find in that land and the peoples with the flaws or planks found in their eyes so to speak. Plank or spec in the idea being based on Jesus telling the Pharisees before you pull the spec out of your brother's eye or judge them take it out of your own. If you yank out the plank lol in their eyes and leave them bleeding and blind they are not going to thank you for it. However if you come from a place of caring and compassion they might listen more carefully and applaud you as being wise and showing them the error of their ways lol There is error in all our ways. Every country we can't hide from it. I don't like to admit to the flaws in my country as then I have to take ownership but it is right there staring most of us in the face these days on all kinds of levels from the problems on wall street to the fact that for the first time in many years our unemployment is high and many many people living week to week will be losing their jobs and it does affect other countries as well. There is still a lot of prejudice here and it is unfortunate how many people do not realize that they spout it every day against someone else. Please can't we all just get along lol. If I want to be yelled out my manager at the restaurant is more than happy to yell at me as I am running around stressed out in my serving job lol.
