Another victim of short term memory

Slowly slipping into history let us go,
with these times another age could never know.
Seee the photo's black and white and quaintly dressed
stood in queues sorely of people smiling, porely pressed.
Your silent room is a collection of your ways,
every shelf is built on all those different days
and those much younger cannot understand by half,
the wireless living room, the faces round the hearth
the ration books of Mathew's out there on the wing.
the corner shop that sould us almost everything.
The farthing in the change, the sirens and the planes,
puffing billies shunting eras down the lane.
You know we'll soon be gone from here
year upon light year.
We'll take the stories with us there
the memories are so dear.

We both remember some of those days.

I remember penny candy...damn ya can't buy anything for a penny anymore...or even 2 pennies for that matter.....

OMG forgot the 5am Breakky's oh and always had the sunnies on hand for when i walked out

Geeze, now I feel old...lol...

I remember when the good guys wore white hats and the bad guys wore black hats.


They didn't have gray hats in those days.

I remember when cigarettes were 40 cents per pack
