Weddie.

I am a woman, but if I was to entertain him at home?

Porcini in a white wine sauce, served on brioche.

Filet of salmon with a parmesan crust, new potatoes and a cheeky little mixed salad.

Creme brulee...

Stinking Bishop, with a fine port...

All this fancy language I dont understand! What is Cotechino`?

Me cooking? Ye gads .... it would have to be something that can stand up to being ignored most of the time -while I languish in a foam bath .....with my face-pack, and then deciding what to wear .....and what to do with my hair ..........And then .. its so nice to drink a bottle of wine between two people ... so the meal has to be something simple but delicious...... and EASY! . With candlelight so he thinks I`m actually still young and delicious looking - more delicious than the food on the table ... we can always eat that for breakfast.......devil ... or a midnite snack ......We can eat the pudding with some more wine ......

Hi wed,

I would take the 'condition' as a joke, and proceed to ask what taste in food they had and jointly decide on a really nice restaurant where we would most probably meet. I rarely have a man pick me up at home for a first date. I am a very private person. But then again, if he were the man of my dreams....heart beating

I do a mean cheese omelette with lightly grilled bacon and sun dried tomatoes. washed down with a light Spanish wine.

Nothing heavy, as that just gives indigestion later on when the mood becomes energetically romantic. grin

Well, it would have to be something fairly straight forward, because I would naturally be strapped for time. But something slightly out of the ordinary. And most likely, Italian.

Maybe starting with a light antipasto of mini bocconcini, lean prosciutto, roasted red peppers, slices of rockmelon

followed by poached or grilled Atlantic salmon, with
roast vegetables with fresh rosemary and olive oil marinade.

Maybe a few different light cheeses and fresh fruit

espresso coffee with a baci.

Hi red,

Glad you're here. I started a thread on the International forums sorting out once and for all, the lady with whom you are really involved.laugh

Go look. I almost started it here. A bit of a laugh, but there was good reason. It's taken off into other tangents, of-course!roll eyes But as I hoped.

Hello to both you and Australia1wave

Lagoona cooks a little?

I thought he lived on tuna and tuna!

However I agree with him about the first date. An invitation to a cooked home meal is just too personal. I would much rather go to a restaurant.

On a subsequent date I would always make some kind of salad, maybe simple with gorgeous Spanish tomatoes, feta and black olives drizzled with olive oil, followed by the main course which, depending on the man (meat or fish), would be accompanied by fresh vegetables, perhaps a platter of roasted veg.

I don´t have a sweet tooth really so I would always prefer a selection of good cheese rather than a dessert.

Of course there would also be some very good red wine.
