Suspense

I needn't say I love you,
Please take it as a fact.
Why should I hide my feelings,
You could have guessed as well.

My love, if not so welcome,
Will suffer you no strain,
Persistent calls will never
Break night's familiar lapse.

I'll tell my little secret
To flowers, falling rain.
No soul will ever guess it,
Relax and be content.

But if my love is welcome,
And if you feel the same,
Pray, don't be long to tell me,
Don't leave me in suspense.

Regardless of the ending
My love will stay unchanged.

A tale of unrequited love? Maybe not: But the lover does appear to be reticent about revealing his true feelings. There is more than a hint of Madame Butterfly in these lines, as she stares out over the ocean awaiting the return of that cad Pinkerton. I hope your longings result in a happier outcome..........

When we write in mystery, I often wonder if we are still coming to the conclusion ourselves...only you Marikia can tell, but unconditional love is rare, and shouldn't be taken lightly...hope it get sorted....
