Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Or does the colour of our skins deter. ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Or do our religions interfere. ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Because I need nothing and you need all. ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Are we just hiding behind a cultural wall? ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? I feel your pain, your suffering too. ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Take my hand my friend I’m offering you. ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? United as one we can carry the load. ~ Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Together, together till the end of the road.

About this poem:
We are all living together on a tiny planet, so what's the problem?
Hi, grandad, Is there no reason why we can’t be friends? Perhaps not. Reason, however, does not govern life alone. We are governed by our irrational side, as well. Emotions, shaped by our teachers, from their narrow experiences, and the "Wednesday's Child" effect, leave us with the challenge of learning how to share the roads, some paved with gold, others with dirt. United as one we can carry the load. Thanks for sharing such a lovely sentiment with us!

No grandad...there is no reason why we can't be friends...but cultures/religions can divide, if we allow them too. Both sides must meet as equal....neither superior...but then, that's true friendship...so it has to be individuals...one person from either side to make a difference....it's a start. Niah

Sorry Ladies for the delay but thank you for your warm comments.
No there are no good reasons Grandad...often seems inexplicable why we can't get along and work towards common altruistic goals. suspect history and revenge and greed have a lot to do with it and these things will not be changed overnight...but should be. Great sentiments. TY
