About this poem:
Just a plain Swade poem as promised. :-)
After reading a poem last night written by a young man questioning the existence of God, then clearly stating a sincere interest in knowing some 'PROOF' of His existence, I was very impressed by the overall level of 'kindness' shown by him and others that surfaced in the exchange of comments to his poem and the on-going dialog between those pushing the thread. Religion and politics are 'HOT' topics that usually set 'intellectual' fires, but the exchanges and how they were handled on that particular poem were very encouraging to me. 'Kindness' is a great extinguisher for damaging verbal flames. The author of that poem deserves an award for his manner of response in KINDNESS to those attempts that were made to ignite another 'unsuccessful' and 'unnecessary' flame. KUDOS TO THE KIND KID!!!
beautiful swade. it is hard now days to find real meaning behind the word of kindness and you in your sonnet have put a meaning that was beautifully inspired by another kindness this has got to be the most touching sonnet i have read..
kickit.

Hi Swade
In this community here on PC, we are all (for better or for worse) judged by the words we write, indeed, these words are in most cases the only measure we have of each other, and should be used wisely - to both educate and entertain.
Kindness of thought is certainly an aim we should all aspire to: A fine acrostic.

Never read the poem in question Swade, but loved you response....Niah
kickit, Fellsman, Niah - Thank you all so much for your encouraging words to my recent post. It's been awhile since I've had time to think clearly enough to write anything due to the crazy hours I've been trying to keep. After reading that young man's poem last night and specifically the way he responded to one of Gnj4U's suggestions on part of his poem... I had to acknowledge 'publicly' the impact that had on me, in hopes that he (the author) might see my attempt to 'pat him on the back'.
I'm glad to have found time and ability to make this post tonight and thoroughly enjoyed each and every comment I've received already. Thanks guys! (and gals )

E njoying treasures of words - not of gold.
Lovely poem, especially this line above, speaks so much of the people who can understand its real meaning.

Kindness spreads kindness, just like hatred spreads hatred, how often in our day to day life, a life filled with war's and killing each other, we come across someone who inspires us, then our faith in human nature is restored.
A truly lovely poem.

Mr. Swade777 what an awesome display of what kindness can do to mankind...the last two lines do justice in the preservation of a very civilized world. Even in a competetive world, we can agree and or disagree and wait for the prize of our labour based on the merits of our performance, yet as rewarding as it is to the winner and perhaps sore feeling to the loser if in everything we do KINDNESS is abound, then we all become winners. This is one of the traits that is so underrated in this world...together with humility and respect....thanks for sharing...
