The Desert And I

Red dust and Spinifex
Thunderous deathly silence
Smell of desert in the air
No human habitations
Occasionally shrubs here and there
To break barren landscape
Snakes and lizards
Call this home
This desolate wasteland
Here and there closer look
There's other creatures living
Burning heat, hardly water
Shadows scarcely found
Here I feel freedoms call
Calling load and clear
Send me here when my days are done
Treading on this earth
Let me rest where I belong
The desert and I as one
