Laiaia...
As I looked down at my feet, they were talons,
As I moved up my body, I noticed it was covered with white feathers,
I was a huge white eagle, and I was perched on a huge tree in a vast savannah-like landscape...
Sweet, exotic music reached my ears faintly,
I rose into the air and followed the melody,
Soon I was circling the clearing from which it was emanating,
Far down below a group of pygmy-like, fair-skinned people were dancing, laughing and singing, their dance movements resembling a rhythmic tai-chi kind of dancing,
Someone spotted me and soon everyone was calling to me in a language I understood to come down and frolic with them,
As I was descending I noticed that I was changing shape,
I took the form of a man,
As I alighted I was greeted with much joy and mirth,
And I just naturally joined in the dancing-circle...
When the music stopped, we walked towards their dwellings where a sweet aroma of food cooking permeated the air,
We sat down and ate with our hands from large communal bowls,
‘So, where have you been playful wind’ someone asked,
All eyes were on me and I realized they were addressing me,
‘Oh, here and there’, I replied, smiling broadly,
‘Typical’, someone said, ‘he never gets specific does he?’,
We ate and enjoyed each others’ company and pleasant, light-hearted banter for hours it seemed...
As is common in exploring other life-times, I then caused my awareness to move forward a number of years to an event that is supposed to be significant to my present timeline,
It was my wedding day; evidently I took a mate from among these wonderful, simple and very easy-going people and lived happily among them for many, many years...
I once again made the move forward in time to the time of my ‘death’ in that time-line,
It was a wondrous experience,
My body, which had not aged one iota,
Was on a pyre burning ceremoniously,
Everyone was singing happily, as my essence arose from the ashes and I was waving a ‘till we meet again’ kind of wave to my companions for that life-time...
It was now time for me to rejoin my present body and time-line,
After I was fully re-integrated, I pondered the significance of why my subconscious took me to that experience:-
I have been too ‘heavy’, too serious again lately,
I have been too polemic again lately,
I have been too aggressive again lately,
My heart was getting too hard again,
I was too deficient in phenylethylamine, the so-called ‘molecule of love’ again,
I have caught myself identifying too much with the present ‘reality’...
Lesson...?
Lighten up, EGT,
Slow down and consider the roses,
Soften your heart,
Smile, laugh, sing more,
Detach, detach, detach more,
Love, love, love more...

About this poem:
Note: From time to time, I like to explore other lives under self-hypnosis..., this one intrigued me..., it took place on a planet called Laiaia..., time-frame not compatible with ours...

WOW!!!EGT this is something else...enjoyed muchly.
This surreal write had more than a hint of Gulliver's Travels to it - and reveals a fascinating insight into your personal philosophy...
I enjoyed this wonderful journey: Is there any room for a fellow traveller (I hope you don't mind my English spellings) in your most agreeable time capsule?
Regards

Thanks Odette, you're such a doll...
Self hypnosis...very transcendental. An outer body experience. I think you are not the first poet to have dabbled in this.
Here I was sure the communal meal was going
to turn out to be white eagles...I am warped!

Hi Earl Grey

Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving — it doesn't matter,
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, come again, come.
As quoted in Sunbeams : A Book of Quotations (1990) by Sy Safransky, p. 67
yes, come with Bill, there's plenty of space in the time capsule..., and never apologize for your English spelling, thank God for it, and for the empire, I'm an Englishman at heart...
thanks for your encouragement...
bravo
