The Badges That I Wear

Don't wipe away my tears. Let them slowly go. Their the badges that I wear. To show the world I care. It's been a journey of growth.
A long and winding road. Not a step I would want to forget.
I've been promised the best is to come yet.
How much more can I be blessed.
It hasn't always been a piece of cake. Times I could barely hold on. Times I felt so all alone. I always reach for good with each step I take.
Knowing as long as there is breath it is never to late.
I don't search for applause or feel the need to justify my cause.
I am led by my heart. Loves been my guide from the start.
And when the day comes. And my breath is done.
Don't cry for me. My love will live on.
In the lives that I touch. The smiles that I give.
When I am gone they will live.
