Down by the River

Down by the river beneath the boughs
Quietly sitting, contemplating, watching the river flow
It is here that your memory intrudes into my mind
Reminding me of love lost, your love's last blow

As your memory washes through my mind
Burning hot tears drip at my dusty feet
Pain and terrible agony tears me apart
Oh heart of mine please give your last beat

How can I go on with all that has been
My soul has darkened, why did you cheat
Slowly the tears wash away the pain
No longer do I have to live with your deceit

Tomorrow will be a brand new day
Slowly, slowly your memory will fade away

About this poem:
This is not a reflection of where I am at this point in my life. I am merely letting my mind take me down some dark alleys and feed the beast within with thoughts of loss and pain.

Steve I am so happpy you are t in such a plight but truly when grief strikes it doesn't have any respect for our vulnerability and self esteem. Yet it is in the same process thst truly creates inside of us that strenght upon which the wealth of courage and character is molded and formed.

There is an awkward feeling of pleasure derived in the sense of lost becaue it caters us to a deeper understanding of who ee truly are. Where pain has passdd there is a positve gai aquired

Thanks for sharing

Yours truly
