Anticipation

Anticipation

Oh the pain of it all, your mind whirling with thoughts of a lover.
Thoughts that move rapidly hoping to discover,
A new touch, or even the simplest mannerisms of another,
which all of it’s based on things you must leisurely uncover,
through passing time constraining the ardor.

His words, his thoughts, his voice,
brings on a whole new vision of imagination.
Dreaming of ways that he might make a choice
He coaxes the woman into a fiery state of anticipation
While slowly speaking, hints of intimacy promoting his flirtation.

And so it builds that force of excitement within us all.
We hunger for more which begin to ache with simple anticipation.
The deed is done, and the slower we move constraining the lascivious,
more difficult the condition leaving us both with new contemplations.
Is it the journey to this frenzy state that releases all of us?
Or is it the final peak of culmination of a journey and consummation?

Plainly it seems to me it does not matter.
And who should care, on how you both finally got to there.
For anticipation builds more intense the quest we share.
But pales to both floating in each other arms for nothing else compares.

Hi Susan,

Over analysis and rationalisation is truly a dilemma we all face. Anticipation and expectation, I think ties into fantasizing or dreaming. We have wish fulfilments and we build them into those expectations. The imagination and the mind's anticipation can be so powerful.

This one is a bit of a thought provoker. Thanks for posting. wine bouquet

Yes ...the drama..planning ...trepidation...excitement and then fulfillment ...so true in pure essence!
