Stretching out and expanding self Filling in places that needed assistance Taking root and growing wildly When cut back and injured I strengthen my roots and grow Coming back even more vibrantly Creating beauty in a variety of places Even those that might not have been expected Many variations represent my moods Some you may like more than others But each one draws you back to know more

About this poem:
I have always like phlox. To represent me, I think that the phlox represents many moods and the ability to adapt to what is needed.

Thanks, Elo. I kind of like to think that I might be a variety of those colors depending on the moment. Fun to be a bit fiery, but lavender/blue, etc are calming and that is in me, too.

I am curious what draws us to a type of flower, above all others....Kathy

Hi Cloudy,
What the Phlox is a Phlox? Clever that you take on the persona of this wee flower. Seems as tough as old boots. Now that's my kind of flower.
Such a nice poem Cloudy, Robert found phlox on the property we bought in Ohio, it was just growing there and as you say, spreading out! I was delighted, it's like a gift from the land to find flowers growing there already and so pretty on the hillside. It's a nice way to express how we feel we are to compare ourselves to flowers.
Cloudy...I can why your choose this hardy and successful flower...and many thanks for sharing

I see sweet snowdrops push through the snow...I think how amazing...So many flowers come back year after year to brighten our days...We could learn much from flowers...Never give up. Lovely thought provoking poem Cloudysky.
