Did You Ever Exist?

Sound of mirror breaking shatters the silence
Shards fly through the air reflecting light
A crazy kaleidoscope of colours on the walls
Within micro seconds, though feels like hours
They settle on the floor, their passing only a memory

Where have you gone? Your light that was bright
Casting warmth into all dark corners
Now only a memory, a forgotten promise
Rain washes all away, ushers in a new day
Silence there is, stillness under the cold light of the sun

I find that while reading this that the more I read it the deeper I get into it. You have managed to create so many different layers within this one poem.
