Amen to that Sharon: Inability to forgive leads in turn to bitterness, which in itself is more destructive to the embittered than to their perceived adversary.
What a lovely poem Bajanshay these words are touching someone in need of hearing this right now. There are many that are bitter and heartbroken and what you wrote gives comfort, be blessed!

This is such a wonderful poem BS,I loved it. I am ready to forgive the ones who hurt but they are not responding, what do I do.I texted asking them to let the matter rest as I will be the same person, its just that it hurt me deeply at first cause we had been so close, but I leave it to god,I extended my hand in forgiveness. Why is it that the people we trust hurt us.

Hi Bill, Inability to forgive hurts you more than the person who wronged you. It takes practice but it can be done, just forgive but don't forget. thank you for your comment.

Hi Paloma, I do hope the situation sorts itself out. As to your question, they hurt because we trust them. You don't trust an enemy but you always trust a friend so we give them the ability to hurt us and hope that they don't.

@Rob, Thank you for reading!Even if they don't believe in God, my hope is that everyone realizes through this poem forgiveness is for them- their wellbeing and not about the other person.
