Ageless Love

Across the room shadows move in daylights time,
peaceful and quiet life has become,
mind and heart still searching for that sign,
no one near to hold my hand or call me hun,

Crystalised memories of loving times,
squandered chances of happier days,
loving words penned along those lines,
pendulum heart with its many sways,

Ageless love was it meant to be,
passionate moments of lustful sin,
many years have shaped this man of me,
caressed lips of love now so very thin,

Time wearies all as we grow old,
kiss of life so tenderly it began,
many heartbeats of loves story told,
Yes, Ageless love is in all our life span.

About this poem:
That symbolic word of love has so many meanings, to love a child, a mother, brother or sister, family and of course the one that makes for loving the partner...love is ageless and is in all our life span.

Our Georgian poet better describes love and its tragic nature, so I will cite his poem instead of making my own comment. Regretfully, he is right, with rare exceptions of better ending. You are not alone, dear poet, who suffered and is suffering, for many of us it takes ages to fully recover, if ever, from love lost. Many thanks for sharing this poem!

LOVE
Author: Akaki Tsereteli

Oh Love, you’re sweet for moment, perfect gift, for long - heartbreak,
At first you’re just a cradle of bliss, then coffin grim and grave!
Now you are mine, tomorrow - other’s, with no direction you do roam!
Where is it, tell me, your beginning? Where is it, tell, the end of yours?
Some scold you much, some ask and plead,
But all we wish the same, all to your will we yield!
Who wouldn’t exchange his life for bitter sweet of yours?
However lofty, feeling this would hardly last for long.
And though your sweetness then turns life to bitter lot,
Still it is you that we all search, how man alive could tell you “no,”
Who wouldn’t give eternal up for fleeting moment in return?!

Thank you Marina, I enjoy reading the georgian poetry from a culture that knew hardships and suffering so the words of a bittersweet loss of love does truly pain.
