The Flying Dutchman glides on waves. That image haunts me for many days, It raises questions And some quests work Who is this strange wandering shade ?
Where is his harbor or his port? Maybe he is reckless? Maybe not. Is he not too welcoming? No, rather silent and strange . Can he not come back ? It doesn't matter anyway. Is he a corvette, Galleon, caravel or frigate? Nobody knows it, But yet I confess He really exists As a shade, Drifting in my dreams
Being doomed to sail the oceans forever is not a nice picture; your imagery here is delightful to read. There are so many tales and stories not known and you just made me know one of them. I traveled once in a merchant ship from Montreal, Canada to Havana, Cuba. Kind of smuggled out of the states as a child. Turbulent waves that October month on hurricane watch. It was a 30 day trip that I will never forget. Thanks for sharing SM
oh SM..30 days is a lot ... I can imagine why it was unforgettable for you .. sometimes some people remind me ships ...thank you for your interesting comment. Lily

Hi salamuna I was looking too, yet the mist came and the Flying Dutchman disappeared! This is a Lovely haunting tribute write with thanks for sharing.
A Ghostly Seaship wandering, Has Salamuna pondering, Its sad location on the waves, And crewmen laid in ocean graves, Her fable ends.. not as it seems, A Dutch man safe in a Dutch girls dreams.
This is a great story Lily...it deserves another run on the first page.
thanks Mick for your wonderful funny verse. you ve got it totally right. A Dutch man only feels safe when he is like an invisible ghost, as soon as he becomes faintly visible, he immediately disappears, dissolves in the hazy cloud of the Internet Regards, Lily
