Oh, my love..
I know your heart has wearied
In the heat of the day
So many sorrows have
Filled your heart with
Dismay
And you think, 'how many
Sunsets must set upon
My dreams of joy..
I cry, as perhaps many
Hearts do
About a lost dream of
Love
That time has forgotten
We have strayed so far
From the essence of
Bliss
We were captured by
The violence of mind
And the thoughts of
An inferior self
We burn our lives away
And grow old under
A merciless sun
We have tasted life
But we do not know
From whence
It came
We spit hatred upon
Our misfortune
We bless the hour when
Our stomach's are
Full
But as surely as this old
Earth keeps on turning
Our mortal bodies shall
Return to the dust
And shall we not give an
Account with how we dealt
With our love and hate?
The beast of the field and
The bug in the dirt will
Not reap
the whirlwind
But we.. are the crown
Of creation
Should we not attend
To the needs of our
Soul?

Little lamb that she was she wanted
Nothing more than to breathe a
Sigh of relief and fall fetal within
The protection of his powerful mane
She finds no fear of the night
Resting upon the paws of her king
For she knows the jungle creeps
Quiet within the scent of the Lion
The lamb looks to him and
Grazes in green pastures no
Longer fearing the violence
Of the storm
For she knows the power
Of his strength..
And love

On the chill of a moonlit night
I was awakened by the
Touch of some unseen
Entity..
Voices taunting me making
Me toss and turn
Shadows on the wall
Were like black
Claw fingers
Then the voices spoke.
" Your mind is nothing more
Than a hieroglyphic symbol."
" A cosmic trick
Of the god's"
'You were born of blood
And dirt wedded to
Bone and sinew"
" You were given a
"Taste of reason which
Shall vanish as a vapor"
You are quite simply..
Astronomically insignificent!"
Your aspirations are nothing
More than a rusty shovel
Leaning against an unmarked
Grave..
Death was mixed in your
Mother's milk from
The beginning..
I screamed out, " Go away!
You have no right to
Speak thus to me!"
But the voices kept
Taunting..
" Look at you! You lie
There on your rotting bed
And pour your imagination
Into unwashed socks.
Your long suit is an
Impossible dream..
You mull around in
Nothing more than worn
Out sandels, and a ragged
T- Shirt that reads, " I
Voted for Lady Godiva!"
The voices departed for an
Hour then returned..
"You are not a cosmological
Constant.. Don't you read?
It was in all the Sunday
Papers!"
I paused for a long moment
Then asked, " Who are you
Voices?'
They whispered, " We are
The voices of doubt..
Was it not you who called
On us in your
Midnight dream?"

Sit down on the couch
My love
I've got something
To say
We've been together
For ten years now
But I must go
Away
I don't mean to
Hurt you
But I just can't
Stay
I packed my bag
Last night and I
Know things won't
Be the same
But in an hour or
Two I must catch
The train
I saw in your eyes
That something
Was a miss
Blame it on me for
Your tears I
Never kissed
You've been a good
Women to me
Perhaps the best
There ever was
But my heart has
Found another in
Everything she does
So I'll leave the key
And shut the door
I'll drive away and
Say nothing more
I know your tears
Will fall down
Your face
And you'll sweep the
Floors of this
Lonely place
But my heart has
Vanished in the
Wind
God forgive me
Of this sin

The time for fantasy's
Is long spent..
I've been offered a
Smile and a warm
Heart to comfort
Awake me!
Awake!
Fall not asleep
Yet I am so tired
My poetry, oh yes,
I've kissed a dream
Or two
But it is the dream
Of her kiss that taunts
My every sleepless
Night
Some mysterious clock
Of love hidden in
The heavens speaks
To me on a bed
Of unknown
Passion
Yet, I know within the
Gentleness of her
Heart she patiently
Waits to take me
In the sunshine
Of her love
Forgive me that my
Arms cannot reach
the golden rose
Of your heart
I fall to my knees
And plead to you
That somewhere
Between time and
Space, that I may
Be granted to fall
Upon your neck
With kisses of

Never met him..
But I have read his poems
His words take on a life
Of their own and we
Can somehow catch
A glimpse of a
Marvelous spirit
Full of giving
His fun humor
That would put
Any maiden
At ease
A straight shooter
A man of integrity
With razors wit
A heart of remarkable
Compassion
And I dare say
A fist of iron
I would feel
Comfortable shaking
His hand
Perhaps few men
Might grasp who
They just met
Perhaps only
A few are graced
With the meaning
Inherant in his
Words
It'll be a pleasant
Day as I stroll
Through memory

I've walked down
This dirt road for
Many a year and
I smile to myself

There is a sunset that dips below
My throbbing passions..
My time upon this earth is perhaps
Nothing more than a whim of
Fantasy
But like so many men I am to
Painfully aware of some inner
Need that transends the boundaries
Of my understanding..
It is though my soul cannot
Rest til I feel the touch of your
Hand
I suppose I could finish out
The rest of my days with all
My magical emotions
But I sometimes wonder
If I've been slighted by
The hand of destiny
That I might never feel
The warmth of your
Loving body next to
My hungry heart
I clench my fists but
I realize that anger
And panting of soul
Has never brought
You near
This love storm of
Volcanic passion seems
To die with every moonlit
Night
What does it take?
Surely, I would be a
Good man to you
Surely, my gentle
Hand would cup
Your cheek and my
Finger tips would
Trace the path of
Your soulful tears
But by some mysterious
Destiny I must breathe
Deep and accept my
Long held passion
You will go on to find
A lover of your desire
You may remember me
Perhaps in the springtime
Of your frolicing fancy
But will you remember
The heart that burns for
Your touch when the winter

I've been elected by the human race
To communicate with your starship

You've been observing our race
For some 2 billion years now
I mean, what's the deal?
