My eyes are windows that reflect and have a language of their own
My spirit has been broken, restored, moulded and has grown
My mind transports me back to reminisce, to contemplate what could have been
My imagination catapults me forward to wonderful places that i haven’t yet seen
My soul has great depth and my heart has plenty of room
To enable me carry and sustain true love
Should it blossom, may it bloom

I am a dream
of I
Dream me a sweeter
dream said I
Dream me a tear that
cannot cry
Awake me from this
dreamy sigh
Pinch me from my
drowsy I
Kiss me awake from
my dying I
Enlarge my heart from
this blinded eye
Hope me again for
a second try
Dream me wings til
I surely fly

Before the break of day, most days
truckers set out-earning their pay
wishing it was otherwise but
knowing no other way.
Espy an enticing shapely butt hitching a ride for free
company rules prescribe the rear is only for trade
so travel up front this freight bound for Mississippi
journeying together, both hoping to get properly laid.
Boss, don't see it through their eyes, but why?
Held back not by holding ties, just lives of lies!

Passing through all these portals over time
Lying on the edge of consciousness rift
Swaying back and forth between stars we climb
To the center where both our souls will drift
Please give me back what will not float away
Become trapped in rings that orbit my core
Like holding a match to papier-mache
Cannon shots through sails of a 'man-at-war'
Once again my dreams be set free at sea
Cause only there seperates day from night
Sets our senses to some highest degree
The sunrise and sets in sweeteness and light
That all these portals of time passing through
Make many days blessed for me and you

About this poem:
Reflecting on what a "day" is...metaphorically of course.....in a sonnet for just the fun of it....why else?

Life is like an old dirt road cut through many ledges
Because sometimes that is only where we are welcome
Like beautiful flowers growing up upon their edges
Or by a painted mailbox on the last stretch home
Our road is really not a road unless travel is allowed
Or weeds and trees will quickly make it disappear
Our road is not a road unless it is grated and plowed
For pot holes fill with water unless the snow is clear
After many passing storms they always needs repair
Swollen creeks at once will flood and wash away the fill
Every road is a fixed distance going off somewhere
Flat or straight, twisting or turning, uphill or downhill
They will always challange us wherever they will go
Sometimes they are empty sometimes they are full
For everyday we must travel on them whether high or low
Always make your journey happy whether you push or pull

Just when you feel most alive
Life is full of beauty
A feeling that you get
Like the ocean
Flowing through your veins
Life is full of blossoms
An orchard in spring
Just when you feel most afraid
Life is full of darkness
A feeling that you get
Like a storm
Raging through your space
Life is full of promises
A chest of hope inside
Like a treasure
Glittering with gold
Just when you feel most in love
Life is full of grace
A feeling that you get
Like a rainbow
Shining in your face
Life is full of sunshine
A perfect summer day
Like a dream
Spinning out of place
Just when you feel most secure
Life is filled with love
A feeling that you get
Like the children
Playing in the park
Life is filled with laughter
Each frame a perfect shot
Like a camera
Capturing time

I am who I am
Who else would I be
I won’t change for you
So why change for me
I won’t waste my life
Being someone I can not be
Because I’m not a fake
Unwilling to break
Get used to what you see
I’m going to be me.

Swirling and twirling around my head
Leaves letting go of the trees
Lifting off in in what little breeze
Makes that last journey to the ground
Always to the ground they will go
Brushed aside into a growing pile
Here they will sit just a little while
Lots and lots of color be brought
In a flash as the fire gets caught
Now watch as smoke goes up and up
Swirling and twirling around my head

Most children touch fire once...
Learning to never touch it again...
Some children seem to forget the pain...
Touching the hot coals again....
A few children seem to never learn...
Constantly getting themselves burned...
But one child knows no other way...
Hot coals is where he constantly lays....
