Catching Up with An Old Love

In a far off almost forgotten past
I travelled across the seas of love
to a most beauteous of islands
nestling next to the gulf stream

There on that most magical place
I lived in the bliss of first love
looking back it was a prefect time
together we thought we ruled life

That things perfect would remain
but alas, all too soon we learnt
that bliss is borrowed not given
the parting of ways soon followed

Now by the curtsies of facebook
we have regained contact again
over forty years later we chatted
shared memories from those years

Looking back was so much fun
we laughed together about those days
recalling oh so many times of love
would I now wish to go back to then?

Not at all for good reasons we parted
the clock in this case can't go back
sad though it may seem, a wealth of time
I put those fond memories back to rest

Pipin

Unbeknownst to him

Sitting here on the ledge of a hill looking down at the valley
and up again the winding roads thinking how it could have been.

In complete stillness I sit here watching all the birds ralley
fate they told me comes in threes which remains to be seen.

For now the sun shines and is keeping away the rain
my heart still bleeds but its lessens day by day the pain.

Soon its time to leave the hill to cross again the waters
to find the one I promised of my coming every three quarters.

He lives between the rugged land and sea
and unbeknown to him he is the one I want to be.

Haiku- Village Life

Sun heats the body

Rising bringing higher heat

The village now sleeps

I HAVE HAD IT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

We've reached the point where you sicken me
I cannot stand to look at you anymore
You have hurt me one to many times
You've changed you are not like before
I have given you chance after chance
You continue in your set path
Of causing me continuous pain
So now you will feel my wrath
Once we were as one I loved you
Always you were first choice with me
In return you slowly started to inflict your pain
Growing more each day we see
So it is time I have made my choice
I will show you to the door
I will honestly miss you
But you will not hurt me no more
Good bye you will be hard to replace

A Laconic Man

He was a laconic man
of mesomorph build
wearing a himation
he quite stole my heart

His excelsior was truth
he came for me in his fiacre
and took me to the heavens
Lacerta was where we paused

On our starry cosmic journey
there he took off his neb
as he bent on one knee
dauntless he proposed

He promised me a cestos
my amour to encourage
when I said yes I will
he shook the reins

We flew to a church
with a beautiful fleche
there our promises
to each other we made

To Each Their Own

Life has a way of righting injustices
no matter how long it may seem to take
although for some it may seem otherwise
just sit back and wait, Karma sorts it

Time and again, people experienced this
even with people that have never met
Karma looks after those who cause upset
returning what is done unjustly tenfold

Yet for those who retaliate it rebounds
a high price has to be paid by sinners
who are caught this way, Karma sees all
knows all, there is no place to hide away

You may scoff, think no it's not true
but just as the piper pays the price
so do those who wish evil on others
some say it was fate, some say it's god

believe what you like as you pass on
everything goes in circles that turn
like the sun with all its satellites
at day's end, it's each to their own

Poetry's lost children

We are orphans of a magnificent
utopianism
We are the bastard child of an
impossible dream
We insert ourselves into the arena
of division and endless choices
We are the party crashers of a
lust fest
We kill ourselves that you may live
You kill us that you may die
Starve us
Beat us
Abuse us
Mock us
We know the whip
Pour the wine of you
destruction..yet in our
broken bodies and hearts
we shall ever suggest a
better way
We are the lost children
of poetry

Eternitarian Soul (for Paloma)

Nacreous colours fill my senses
as the psiturism flows round me
touching the aeolian strings and
stirring the gossamer shroud

bringing ataraxia to my reverent
cosmogyral brings reminiscence
of days long gone by, yet I reach
my destination, my soul's safe haven
