The Impossible Dream!

The Impossible Dream!

And the Days Linger On
Into blossoming few!

Gone are the days of “The old Mill Stream”
Where did they go?

“Hurricane Sandy” knocked down “The Old Apple Tree”

And the days of necking in the back sit
of the old cars are passé!

Would like a companion that is slowing down
No longer interested in “The Fast Track”

Doesn’t gulp their coffee and say
I have to run!

No scuba diving or hit the ball fun

Just want someone that I can telephone and call!

That smiles when I say it’s me

Looking for a date today,
Are you free?

Come smile and laugh outrageously with me

A drink of coffee, wine, dinner or lunch

No bowling or golf, can you see

I am just looking for someone that would
Be happy just to be with me!

Someone that no longer wants to travel around the
world & roam, not into casinos or cruises, wants a homebody that likes a quiet home

Someone that laughs and smiles all day long

Maybe even stays the night to early dawn

Riding near the ocean’s beach
Watching waves splash upon it’s shores

Crashing waves upon the rocks
Listen to the ocean’s turbulent roars

Companion for rides, eats and drinks

Holding hands

A kiss or two with my sweet

Cuddling close together as a special lovely treat

Playing on the computer

Watching late TV

Whispering, laughing all day long

Stay the night, until early dawn

Snuggling up close, nestle with me!

Looking for someone special

A companion to live a quiet life don't you see!

The Impossible Dream

playing with trains

ever notice how a guy never complains
when he's down on his floor playing with trains
he eyes his track like a master engineer
the boy simply admires the engine of power
and imagines himself its master
heading on, sticking out the cab window
coming out of the turn from the yard
to a flat straightaway running faster
a three-note whistle wails looong as
in his head he hears the Doppler shift
and he crosses trestles and bridges
to the importance of a playful day
devoid of studying and any timetables
outside of pulling into the next station

paying insurance bills and filing
endless forms are totally unknown
girlfriends or wives and little engineers
of his own to provide for somehow
and the demands of bank notices and
client presentations mean nothing
with an eyeball on the rug watching the
509 coming down the track of his bliss
the brakeman in overalls, gloves and cap
swings his lantern and waves hello

The Poet Writer

The Poet Writer

The poet writer tries to tell his truth to mankind
though not from thought yet from his haunting mind.
Not in the prose of a story, but remaining within a tale
that turned an inner dream into a deadly inward gale.
Fed by devils and demons with madness as their goal
his imagination leading to a deep sigh within his soul.
Lurking on every page this lost genius that I now know
this dreamer within a dream, this poet Edgar Allen Poe!

Chauvinistic Memoirs

Chauvinistic Memoirs

He sat musing over his sherry
Thoughts of old times rallied
he set pen to to paper to write
and poured another glass

It was now years ago
as in another life
Happy in new found wealth
A beautiful woman by his side
Ever ready to please
and obedient withal
She was a strange one
delighted to evoke
In different ways
A sure reponse
To engage

Soon with reddened
and striped cheeks
would bend over
In the contrite pose
so irresistible as she
knew it would be.

Such memories
He put down his pen
As the new version
presented herself
and sat on his lap.

Time Tunnel

When I was a little boy
I watched this interesting show
About people from all walks of life
Appearing to each other
in a different time frame
That was interesting
I feel we can do that now
coutries have different time zones
the climates are colorful
the cultures offer variety of specials
flowers and plants bloom
animals are found where the water is
tropical climates and flamingos
bird sanctuaries
igloos and the polar bear
hippopotamus in the water
Snakes in the forest of India
bees making honey
cows providing milk
Japan has fresh sushi
Italy has spaghetti and meatballs
wine woman and song
opera is a good thing
Germany has techonology
Bonn is the birthplace
for many outstanding musicians
take my hand
hop on this trip
glory days
wonderful moments
time tunnel

Home thoughts from abroad.

Once I lived by Oman's seas,
with time and tides consistency,
her sun-drenched shores in golden span,
where Mohammed ne'er has changed his plan.
How heaven looks on in starry smiles
upon her balmy, tropic pearly ilses
and Arabian tales its teller tells,
along her blue-lit water swells,
in all its pedestrian faultlessness
live humble origins of happiness,
where no subtle devious laws apply;
for eye is taken for an eye,
honour's pride, a deed that's taught,
more precious, than life caught
in fine silks or woven tapestries.
For knowingly, stolen truth deceives
with false words, human dignity
profits not greed's profanity,
that with malevolent ease spermed
detested rape and virtue to carnage turned.
Mecca's eastern temple's soft embrace
counsel prayers, richer life may trace
to seek, not youth's custom bold
of stars in vain that only heaven hold.
Good earthly minds with virtue fill,
mastering low passion's prolific ill,
save gluttonous fools, whose greatest store
is wanting abundance more and more,
vast grown in jewelled- bespeckled misery,
focus only silvered coins treachery.
Scales of justice there bestow
judgement, the rapier strikes its blow,
handed down from ageless time
behoves the scales of justice divine.
Thus doyen and sweet child
breathe Arabian soft perfumes mild;
oft thy pleasured memories I will draw
upon, all that my eager eyes once saw,
vaults of memory, thou for me have made
to light the dull edge of black day.

About this poem:
A reflection of many years spent in the antique lands of Arabia, how much time and publicity we in the western world are subjected to the notion that they are all malevolent terrorists, which of course they are not, I'll leave it there before the political world explodes!!!!!!!!!!!

Emily Youcis

I first saw you on Steven Colbert
You were the pistachio girl
You delivered Cracker Jacks too
And you yelled out PISTACHIO!
You were good at your job
Giving not only nuts but joy to the game of baseball
The Philadelphia Phillies was you home
You ruled that ball park
Making it fun to go see a game
Then someone got political and fired you from your job
Too bad
We lost another fun soul that was good at cheering up a crowd
I don't care what they say about you Pistachio girl
Emily Youcis
You rock!

King Creole

From the balcony,
Daniel Fisher,
moon-eyed, lovelorn,
baritoned 'Crawfish,'

his raven hair
slicker than
the shingled shore,
laved with eve's

waves, crisply
lisping. Here and
there fireflies
swayed greenly. Creole

throats echoed, throbbed,
the gloaming hummed.

treasures

They roam the hills and the valleys of our years these treasures of our lives and of our peers. They flow like gentle music throu our busey days, and rage like torrents of rain altering our stubborn ways. They mellow our aging, bring memories we hold dear; and wiser mold our thoughts while we are here. Treasures: yes, they are many; they are finer then gold.

Memories of a "Cheese Danish"

Long ago, and far away, lived this lady.
who? i couldnt say.....

One fine day, she met a very interesting sounding man
on the internet. Against warnings, she corresponded
with him, and he appeared very nice.So much so that she didnt think twice....

Then one day she had a chance to finially meet him.
they met at the schueled time and place. She was a nervous wreck,
but what the heck.....

She took one look, and plesently surprised was she. He was so
handsome and gentle with her...she smiled with glee...
He came to her and gave her the sweetest, softest kiss
she ever had before. In her whole life! Wow!

Every bone and muscle in her body melted, with that
kiss.... and he seemed everything he said he was.

They talked a bit, and got some Cheese danishes....
one thing led to another, and soon, they were together in
the room. More soft sweet kisses followed.....and
more tenderness and intimacy....til it was time to go...
she says she drove home almost drowning in the satisfaction
only found on such a beautiful day.........

The lady broke all her rules that day, but I am told that
she doesnt feel any regret...and would do it again! You Bet!

And by the way, she says the Cheese Danish was wonderful too!

Sometimes i guess you just have to break the rules , and take a
chance. He was that Prince she drempt about always...
But, she says, he got away.

She told me she will never forget that Prince, or that day, or the
Cheese Danishes..
