Chances Are

Oh, the reasoning of it all
Just one more throw of the dice
What are the chances we be men
and not scampering little mice?
A probability you say..a random
act of chance
But how long will we assume that
we are natures happenstance?
Stack up the odds..pile them ever
so high
The mathematics will confound us
to the very day we die
Mice will be mice and men will
be men
Astronomically speaking..could it
happen again?
I think not, but that's a thought..
Oh, here we go again
No mouse can ever match us cause we
be thinking men~

A lonely life

I chose a lonely life
Without a wife
No one to share
Tears of despair

No one to give
Reasons to live
No one to love
And meet above

No one to care
When you get there
No one to wait
Beyond the gate

No hand to hold
Till you grow old
No lips to kiss
And none to miss

But to be fair
Let's not despair
It's not all bad
When you're in bed

It's not all sad
If you get mad
No one will keep
You from a drink

So if I may...
It is okay
I guess I could...
Say, it's all good

never regret the treachery of time

Do not be sorry for the treachery of time. Dogs have always danced on the corpses of lions. They do not think that by their dancing they are superior to their masters. Lions remain lions and dogs are dogs. Lions die in the forests of hunger and mutton are eaten by dogs. An ignorant person may sleep on silk and a person with knowledge covers dirt. Eternity is two days of security and one is dangerous. And living is two days. It is clear and turbid. Do you not see the sea with carcasses rising above it and resting in the farthest bottom of its pearls? And in the sky there are stars without number, and nothing is eclipsed except the sun and the moon. We blame our time, and the fault is in us, and there is no fault in our time except us. And we approach that time without sin, even if time spoke against us, and the wolf does not eat the flesh of a wolf and eat each other. With our eyes, let the days do what they want, heal your soul when the judgment rules, and do not be dismayed by the events of the nights, for the events of this world do not last, and be a man of fortitude against horrors, and your mark is tolerance and loyalty, and if your faults are many in the wilderness, and you are pleased to have a cover for them, cover them with generosity, for every fault is covered, as it was said, by generosity, and never see the enemies as humiliated. For the gloating of enemies is a affliction. Do not hope for forgiveness from a stingy person. For there is water in the fire for the thirsty. Your sustenance is not diminished by patience, nor is sustenance increased by hardship. There is no lasting sadness and no joy. There is no misery for you and no prosperity. If you have a contented heart, then you and the owner of the world are the same. And whoever is struck by death, there is no earth to protect him. Neither the sky nor the earth of God is spacious, but when the judge descends, the space is narrow. Let the days deceive every now and then, for there is no substitute for death as medicine.

About this poem:
It is a vertical poem composed by Imam Al-Shafi’i, who is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Idris Al-Shafi’i. Among the most prominent topics covered in the poem are the following: the fluctuations of conditions for people in time, as there is no regret about that. The fluctuation of circumstances does not change the status and value of people. He mentioned some examples of the treachery of time, such as the ignorant sleeping on silk, while the learned sleeps on dirt. The poet's emphasis is that time has nothing to do with what happens, and it is wrong to criticize it, but the matter is up to human action. The call to be satisfied with destiny and destiny, and not to be afraid, as nothing remains as it is. The call to display the qualities of manhood and morals, and no matter how bad a person has qualities, he must cover them up with generosity and giving. The call not to gloat over enemies, or ask for a favor from a miser. Sustenance is written and destined, and calls for contentment and contentment. The inevitability of death....Written about 1200 years ago

The Untouchable Lovable Difference

I stopped and talked on a sunny summery day,
with friendly Ron selling the Vagabond
That day I learned what gift means the most.

To smile sweetly, to talk a few, or give a hug,
sharing respect, inclusion, goodness of humanity,
forming a kind connection that all can see.

Still soldiering his days selling the paper,
to make enough to give him food and room.
No fame does he want, but to help when he can.
So, he called for help when the lady couldn’t stand.

Another time, a generous lad helped a driver in need,
What kindness and giving, indeed.
No matter his life condition at the present time.
This panhandler’s quick help was ever so kind.

Everyone makes a difference, even those without a home.
Whether on the street or in a shelter, I see.
They say hello, smile, easily lending a helping hand.
Giving a good example of what we all can be.

Some are so gracious as to clean their tobacco debris
from the store front streets, going above and beyond.
With consideration and thoughtfulness abound.
Open your eyes, and oh, the goodness you can see!

Seemingly at the worst, I have seen some of the best-
that is, the best in heart within humanity.
They cheered me in my times of need, with hearts open, they do.
So much they have when living gratefully, for all they do for me and you.

Think again, the last time one made you smile,
or lifted your heart, as they think more simply.
Offering a wave, some advice, a song or two,
That glorious music at the farmers market zoo.

Others may not be easy to notice, for they’re often not on the corner,
but tucked away at shelter or in a park somewhere.
Maybe they’re in a car or camping out in a quiet place.
Yet, you never know just when they’ll be there to care.

They may even look like any one of us, night or day,
dressed clean and in their personal best – to make a shift
With polite manners, working a job, and being thankful for what is,
moving forward, head held up, still giving love away.

We all make a positive difference, yes sirree.
Many a smile can be shared from people at the worst,
when life is down and they breathe in the humbleness that be.
I am so thankful for the goodness I see.

I am glad to give in what way I can to those in need,
when they have a grateful heart and do all within their ability,
with a smile on their face, and faith in their heart,
sharing joys too as part of the family of humanity.

About this poem:
This poem is one that is extra special to me, for it acknowledges that people at their seemingly worst, are still a valuable, meaningful part of humanity. For instance, anyone in a homeless situation can make a positive difference and some do- many, perhaps!

This is what it means to me, in my experience in Eugene, Oregon. I am grateful that some of our unhoused members are as kind and giving as they are, just as any other- if not more, at times. Perhaps, because they are treated with such grace and respect vs. another locality?

The Treasure that is a Woman

Digging in the sand, finding the right spot.

It's deep, but buried, hidden below.

I see it. I know without a doubt.

Searching to uncover and bring it to me.

The treasure that hides.

To experience the treasure, one can not just look.

And so is, the experience that is woman.

We seek as marauders after the treasure chest

But it's our hearts we wish to fill.

For those unknowing what they find, the treasure simply disappears.

But those who seek for a lifetimes sake, know what's been hidden away.

Open the box to find the gold, jewels and crowns.

So is a woman.

I know, when I find you, the adventure has just begun.

The gold on top, the beauty that shines for all to see is but the surface of the riches that await me.

I dig a little deeper to find jewels as her heart so shines. Glistening with love for me,

No diamond, ruby or emerald can compare.

Silver I see as her eyes shine. Welcoming and wanting. What more can a man desire.

Crowns I find, encrusted with gold, and jewels and silver.

The crown she wears as my queen, the crown she bestows upon me with the light of her heart.

It isn't a warm heart, a kind word or the beauty of her body.

It's the treasure that is so desirable. To have but one piece, is but a loss.

To find the treasure and spend a lifetime, sifting through, is a lifetime of joy.

Blessed is he who finds this treasure,

The treasure that is a woman.

"CREATION"(30)("RAINY DAYS DIE")

"CREATION"(30)("RAINY DAYS DIE")
By Namaron from the Blog Section

You Can Hope And Pray It Will Go Away
Maybe Disappear The Very Next Day
But Then Again Tomorrow Hits So Hard
You Dont Want To Come Out And Play
Its Not Easy Being You
Thats What They All Seem To Say

You Can Cry A Thousand Rivers
That Will Flow On Your Other Side
But On The Other Side Of Your Other Side
Is Where Rivers Dry Up To Die
All Those Deserts Youve Created
Cannot Cover Over Rainy Day Lies

Those Over Grown Disasters
That You Conceived Within Your Soul
Will Hinder Any Progress
If You Ever Had A Goal
Its All There All Stored Away
In That Hollow Empty Soul

So Go Ahead And Chase Those Shadows
The Ones That Sent A Smile Your Way
Those Shadows Cant Be The Real Thing
Its Your Imagination At Play
Around And Around And Around You Go
What Is There Really Left To Say?

Eternal search

If felt feel windless
The I am almost at a standstill
The past is no longer to be found
Memories of the wind blown

Soon a whole life will disappear
More or less, one becomes alien
Before a nebulous wall one will float
Which unrelentingly separates from life

When the veil fires at times
The memory has great gaps
The memory is totally jagged
Synapses are only rotten bridges

Eternal search, history disappears
One goes away and is still there
To fight for words that are no longer found
Ditched in clouds and yet close

In clear moments, fear of the morning
Momentary consolation
But the certainty with all sorrows
Paralyze the dignity

As dementia is still incurable
Some come to that place
Where you forget that you forget everything
And walk over the gracious threshold

Enough As Can Be ....

I want that somebody who'll be the first to support me,
protect ... defend ..... console me ...
Not the first one to emotionally hurt me ...
demean me... debase me...
just because I dont meet exacting expectations...
not up to par with one's "taste"...
And thereafter , seemingly punched in the gut
before getting thrown off the curb..
made me feel ... for one brief moment ...
like a crumpled piece of waste ...

It perplexes me how somebody can hurt
the one they supposedly love..
when I would have thrown myself infront
to protect him from any peril thereof...
Pointless to ask " how" or "why" ...
no any reshoot possible...
no words said nor deed done deletable
to prevent the tears
already shed and now dry...

I have learned that while giving / sharing
most of my love & heart to one I love...
wisest to save enough for SELF-RESPECT ,
to cushion any hurt ...
if ever that ship hits the rocks
and gets tragically wrecked ...
A partner should be one's rock & safe haven ...
the very first one to care , shield and defend
instead of the ego ruining it to a sorry end ...

About this poem:
Going through the wringer as depicted in the poem... is a most harrowing experience , specially when one didn't see it coming ... Though a little worse for wear.. those who are well grounded recover intact .. and all the wiser for it ... inspite of the momentary hurt felt and pain endured ...

Sharing this poem is also an ode to those people ... women in particular, but also men .. who can say " been there... done that ... moved on " ...

ALONE BUT NEVER LONELY

ALONE BUT NEVER LONELY

Have you ever experienced the loneliness even though in a room,
full of people and having had the feeling that something is creeping towards you that can only spell, doom.?

Have you ever heard somebody saying “Alone but never lonely” but can it be?
That somewhere along life’s journey your eyes were opened, but yet you don’t see?-

That loneliness is not measured by being alone, but is fulfilled by knowing that being,
Alone is not necessary the absence of a body in your presence, but knowing that seeing is not the ultimate measure of loneliness.

Not the presence of people in your immediate bubble, does not necessarily means that you are a soul seeker or alone.

The companionship and fellowship that will enhance your right to make the statement that along life’s journey, you will come to the realisation that if you seek you will ultimately find …… only yourself.

Getting to know and accepting yourself for who you are, can ultimately only proof to one person, and that one is you.
In the end you have to feel comfortable with only yourself and to recognise that loneliness is not really the absence of companionship.

In order to say the words “I am alone but never lonely” you will have to make peace not only with yourself, but to accept yourself, love yourself and then only you will be able to say “I am alone but never lonely.

CS Misery

Life itself has many ups and downs,
Just being Happy with a life long smile,
Emotional users, on this everyone frowns,
Why pretend its just not worthwhile,

Singles sites are a place to meet,
A potential new love found,
Not to hurt or cause one to greet,
So many just give the run-around,

Whatever happened to commonsense,
Many are truly hoping for a new life,
So many seem to still sit on the fence,
Is it really possible to find that husband or wife,

After a while we all give in,
To the blogs and forums abound,
But that hopeful sparkle remains within,
Just maybe that one can be found.

About this poem:
When so many pretend and just like the chase one wonders if it can really happen here or even on any other dating site?
Many of the regulars just go down the avenue of posting poetry, blogs or interact with forums.
