The Haunted House

We all think that old houses are haunted with spooky ghosts
That will jump out and scare us, but are there really ghosts
Or just our vivid fantasies of apparitions and spectres.
In books we read about ghosts resembling the headless
Horseman in "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" that chased
Ichabod Crane onto a bridge, where soon after that he
Disappeared. Well, it sounds absurd that that would
Ever happen, so why do people think that all old houses
Come complete with a ghost? Maybe the noises people hear
Are the house just settling for the night, there may not be any
Supernatural occurrances at all. The ghosts seem to come with
Our imagination and the dark environment and surroundings.
There is the illusion that a tragic event may have happened
In the house, bringing on a ghostly visage, when an eathbound
Spirit may walk the house searching for it's redemption.
Spirits might have been sighted by ghost hunting groups,
Who bring with them electronic devices to search for sounds and
Visions, hoping for sightings. Some have actually seen images
Of ghostly movements, but nothing is really conclusive.
The house remains as it is - just an old house that has
Seen many families in its time, but it can never really be haunted.

ALONE BUT NEVER LONELY

ALONE BUT NEVER LONELY

Have you ever experienced the loneliness even though in a room,
full of people and having had the feeling that something is creeping towards you that can only spell, doom.?

Have you ever heard somebody saying “Alone but never lonely” but can it be?
That somewhere along life’s journey your eyes were opened, but yet you don’t see?-

That loneliness is not measured by being alone, but is fulfilled by knowing that being,
Alone is not necessary the absence of a body in your presence, but knowing that seeing is not the ultimate measure of loneliness.

Not the presence of people in your immediate bubble, does not necessarily means that you are a soul seeker or alone.

The companionship and fellowship that will enhance your right to make the statement that along life’s journey, you will come to the realisation that if you seek you will ultimately find …… only yourself.

Getting to know and accepting yourself for who you are, can ultimately only proof to one person, and that one is you.
In the end you have to feel comfortable with only yourself and to recognise that loneliness is not really the absence of companionship.

In order to say the words “I am alone but never lonely” you will have to make peace not only with yourself, but to accept yourself, love yourself and then only you will be able to say “I am alone but never lonely.

A Poets Challenge For all to join

I have came up with 2 starting lines that I really enjoy but some how my imagination is in idol right now.I am asking the poets of this corner to finish this poem using these 2 starting lines is the only rule.

A thousand steps
walking a crooked fence

Lets see what you great poets can do with these two, I believe magnificent lines. Look forward to what you have come up with.

Kickit......

Baby let go, please just walk away...

Baby let go
please just walk away
you broke my heart in two
I don't want you to stay
your in every song
and in every story
you stole my heart
and all my glory
i'll keep my love to give
to that right someone
I thought you loved me
now I know I was wrong
reading your little message
on my phone once more
you'll always be here
why can't I just ignore
what exactly is it
that draws me to you
that obsessive compulsion
to have my heart torn in two
I neither know nor care
for your words no more
I don't know if they are true
and like you said before
that is something
I just can't ignore
I want to drown in the sorrow
of my own self pity
but i'm going to get my boots
and leave this city
I want to sleep tonight
through all my fears
and when I wake alone
i'll hide my tears
got to grab my dreams
and all i can take
i'll leave your picture
your smile was fake.

About this poem:
Like my other poem on here I just jotted down a few feelings after breaking up with a girl I thought I loved, well i suppose I did love her, just she didn't love me as much as she said she did.

To poets

Sing a song of living,
Sing a song of love,
Sing a song of friendship,
Here and everywhere.

Troubles all forgotten,
Feelings all set free,
Friends, I'll join the chorus,
Joyful and sincere.

Let these quiet moments
Give us great relief,
Sorrows be forgotten,
Join in common glee.

Friends, this little corner
Is a place we need.
Welcome all who join us,
Stay with us, don't flee.

Epona

Redemptive form:

Power through narrative,
Power through Nature.

Epona my redeemer,
Epona my sunshine,
Epona my lifeline,
Epona my success,
Epona my Goddess.

where there's no smoke there's no fire

ok, so you think you're so hot
and that you really got it goin' on
like that earns you the jack pot
in the "Get the Chick that's Hot" Contest

Well listen baby - you're not so hot
you're not even simmerin'
but wait - at least you've got a pair
though you're filled with hot air.

If you weren't so busy lookin' out for #1
you'd know that love doesn't hang around
when your heart's a closed door - it simply
can't be found!

When Music Speaks

When music speaks, it speaks unto the heart; -
Where poet's words may fail, music talks.
When two lovers; - they are so far apart
Fine music now to bridge that farthest walk.
It's something that I know before we part; -
And something that may make the staunchest balk.
You say that money talks; - it's treachery -
The sole haven of the weak - in lechery.

When music speaks, the soul it now awakes; -
(It's something that we cannot quite explain).
Gods have left us to our various fates
(And time will leave but few there to remain).
History will remember those few greats
(Like the gentle kiss of seasons in Spring rain).
Byron knew this, and so did Shakespeare -
They trod the ground to walk where others fear.

And poetry, it seems, is a lost art
Something, maybe now, from a bygone age.
Woman I have loved - now we're far apart
(And remembered they, only on my page).
When I was young I thought I was so smart
The older that I get, more life it's strange.
I long for bygone times - where poetry
Would tell my lover of sincerity.
