Saving Grace

Tortured souls unbinding

Yet infinitely connected

Jigsaw pieces from different puzzles

But like a bad dream telling horror stories with alternate endings

We return to places of feeling, destroying each other in fragmented lies.

We are to each other a hard liquor, erasing all the shit for a while, growing pious in empty unseeing eyes.

Zombies in a world of unanswered questions, constantly asked, knowing the outcome anyway.

Shapeless feelings in a void where everyone else plays safe.

Screaming without a voice, mouths locked tight.

Nothing remembered to save face.

We are only temporarily saving grace.

About this poem:
This poem was started weeks ago at a time when all I could do is constantly wake up to write these words down. I finally finished it today, 7-24-11. I'm very well known to start something, and finish it weeks, sometimes years later. But this feeling has kept going. It's a look at the human race, but not as a whole, as an individual. We all fight this fight.

GROWING UP

There was once a child,
With a heart so mild.
She was carefree, happy and gay
All day long she would play.

"come help with the dishes"
mother would say,
"Clean up your room,"
Mother would give a broom.

The child grew up,young and pretty.
She would see mother toiling at home.
To help her, she wouldn't think,
To read a story, she would aim.

The child got married, a mother she became,
"Come help with the work,"
She would call out,
To the children now big and stout.

She'd get wild, they would not hear
She'd shout, they did not fear
Then she sat, on a stool,
Her memories as warm as wool.

She remembered the times
Her mother's voice chimed
How she must have needed,
The help, the child avoided

"Oh mama, now I know," she whispered,
It is so late now she knows,
she walked back to her tasks,
She knew she must toil

In this rat race, little do we know
we must endure similar encounters
of people whose pleas, we have not
heeded, we have ignored.

We want..

We want many things in this life
Love,power ,money and fame
And we want them faster
And we want all.
But we forget to ask
One thing ad maybe
The most important one.
To be a healthy person.
What sense has to have all
If u are sick and can't enjoy by all.
Better to be healthy and
Little from each one
Instead be sick and
Enjoy nothing from all.

Maw & Paw.........episode V

Paws' eyes looked like marbles
as he laid there petrified.
He felt Maw knawing on his ear
her tongue tip poked inside.
Her sweet embrace was wonderful
as far as Paw could tell.
Then the mood was ruined
by that dreadful howl from hell !

Paw grabbed his britches from the chair
and scurried to the door.
Never had that howl been heard
on Yippin Holler Hill before!
Paw raced outside and glanced around,
Maw clinging to his arm.
The howl was coming from the pen
from out behind the barn.

The pig pen was in shambles
every Sows' hoofs in the air!
The hog was on a little fox
howling in despair.
Paw looked stunned.Maw tried to speak
betwixt her smokers cough,
"He's eaten your Viagra,
I threw them in their trough."

"That wasn't mine," said Paw to Maw,
"I picked that up last week.
A weddin' gift for Monday next
for Jinnies' cousin Zeek.
I'm not needin' that just yet,"
Paw kissed Maw on the cheek,
"My libidos' A-OK,It's just my knee that's weak !"

Perfection

Do you not see me? Standing on that solitary rock
Where you always imagined I would be
As night became day, yet I refused to leave
Have you felt the passion? Of the solitary man
Who looked at you, not with pleading eyes?
For he knew what you would always know
That true love is not how one feels
But it is how one cannot resist
That touch, that tingle, that takes over
Your very soul and quells all resistance
As if the world would never stand still again
And the Nightingales still sung
And the dawn released us yet again
To fulfil what we know could never be
But how we savoured it, those precious moments
When two hearts put aside their differences
And took the moment for what it was
Knowing that it would never last
But always unable to resist the passion
Do you not see me?
Standing on that rock
Am I just a vision of your hopes and dreams?
Or am I a reality
That only you can make come real
For perfection is not within our grasp
But passion is forever within our hearts
So when you next go to the sea, look up
And always wonder at what you have missed
And stare at that long off shadow
Do you not see me?
For I am there

And the Moon screamed out your name
And the Sun burnt you into my life
As the dawn held you within my sight
And the Nightingales refused to cease their song
And you knew
That that solitary rock
Would never be the same again
For perfection
Can not ever be found
But love seeks only tenderness
And cares not for the distant drums
That would awaken us apart once again
Do you not miss me as I do you?

A FRIEND LIKE YOU

THERE'S ALOT OF THINGS WITH WHICH I'M BLESSED.
"THO" MY LIFE BEEN BOTH SUNNY AND BLUE BUT OF ALL
BLESSING THIS ONE IS THE BEST TO HAVE A FRIEND LIKE YOU.
IN TIMES OF TROUBLE FRIENDS WILL SAY "JUST ASK, ILL
HELP YOU THOUGH IT" BUT YOU DON'T WAIT FOR ME TO ASK
YOU JUST GET UP AND YOU DO IT AND I CAN THINK OF
NOTHING IN LIFE THAT I COULD MORE WISELY DO THAN NOW
A FRIEND AND BE A FRIEND AND LOVE A FRIEND LIKE YOU

blurry picks

the F's are all stopped
only shutter at the image
the edges are all cropped
field of view, gone, askew

in a flash it all changed
this depth of perception
focal points all rearranged
just some 3D deception

don't see though this lens
all life seems just to hurry
can't seem to recognize trends
seems image all too blurry

the frame too dark to discern
click it now and change the focus
what we seek is what we yearn
to bring clarity, life's great locus

Hot stuff

Hot stuff story
Can a relationship last being separated
Knew a man that was a
Very
good craftsman
Good with his hands
One of the good ole'
Country boys
Superb dancer lover
Great Rhythm
From his smile
To his cowboy boots
And lovely jeans
Lovely legs to watch dancing
Accepted a job out of town
Left his girlfriend at home
He was so good at his craft carpentry
From the
*Int'l Brotherhood of Carpenters Union Workers
(IBCW) or is it Construction Workers?
Not (IBEW) Electrical Workers
Of top Caliber in his craft
Rarely found by a boss
Top knotch he was in all ways
In his personal life:
Very Luscious lips
Good kisser
Mmmm ...
*In business a Superb Asset in the work force
That his boss kept on asking him to stay longer
And said it would only be just days or weeks longer
Meanwhile he would call home and say honey
It's only gonna be a little while longer
Days turned into weeks
Weeks turned into months
He needed the money so he stayed
His woman said I need your kisses
Your good lovin'
Warning him she could not stand not having him
She was going crazy
She kept warning him
He told her it was also driving him crazy
To not be able to hold her
Hug her touch her caress her
Kiss her luscious soft lips
She was not the kind of woman u ever leave alone!
She warned him one last time
If you don't come home
I'm leaving I won't be waiting anymore
I've had Enough!
He knew she would do what she warned of
He came home after 10 months and found the home bare empty his heart sunk
To the ground
He fell to his knees
Head hanging low
Downtrodden to the core
Of his soul
seeing an empty house.
He didn't know where she went. She disappeared
Couldn't stand being deprived of his good lovin'
Much Later with a new woman
he moved into a duplex at night
And heard the bedroom noises through the thin walls
It could only be her
and to his surprise knew it was her
only she sounded like that
The next day he went outside and saw her
He had a distraught look on his sad face
He couldn't smile if he wanted to
Know way could he muster
Up a smile
But inner old hurt
She saw him
And then heard his bedroom noises with his lover
The following night
They were both crazy with just walls separating each
other - can u imagine the disheartening heartache?
He was going crazy with desire for her!
Within a short period of time he had to move out or lose his mind his sanity!
He was use to being on the receiving end line before
The passion and memories of fire were churning in his soul memory box he couldn't take another nite
Or surely he would die with desire
Flames so hot burning with desire too much to endure
Another being her lover
And Never ever having her again
Pure Agony of defeat!
Just the thought of her
Was excruciating painful
Mentally and physically
She's alive but he could not have her no more
Ever again
The love of his life!

Silk

You breathe my name
My heart skips a beat
Slowly gently you kiss me

Harder

So not to see the things you know you aren't hiding from me
We both see them there
Staring as we dance our dance
Fully clothe yet still naked in the dark

How open is this heart?

How closed is your mind?

You speak of things that make my skin crawl with your mouth
This same mouth, like silk, sends sweet honey
It soothes the ache and erases the things I long to deny

As the tide is moved by the moon
I'm left helplessly longing for a taste of you
A taste that can never be mine

Reveal

For i never doubted you
I never thought
it could be true.
Now you have
started doubting me
how can that be.
I could never do
that horrible thing
yet you see it in
your nightmares and
think that it is true.
For you think darkness
has come into me and
that is what i am to be.
