Animus

Swallowing colors that weighed down my pride
With a smiling face my charisma could hide
Holding these feelings that I just want to hold
Buried by chains hoping in time I'll let go
But only in death will I ever find rest
Sending my demons to hell for all the nights that I've wept
Stripping my bones of this flesh that I've so longed to peel
I get caught in its depths and I just want to kill
While I pray to my God my heart falls from the sky
Deeply buried below where my angels subsides
Displacement of love found in all the wrong places
Anger becomes hate then I detach and just break shit
So tell me again doc how should I let go
Before my serotonin and sanity spill all over the floor
From emptied bottles of pills where your salvation is faceless
Chasing bottles of violence until I get wasted
Naked, deflated, bloody knuckled, and bruises
You stood with closed eyes ignorant and still clueless
With no frame of reference to understand where I died
Or why the darkness surrounding keeps me far from the light
Lord of my life would you please start this over
Dig me out of this hole shrinking from sober to colder
Where the maggots consume the only heaven awaiting
But there's nothing left in this world but myself that can save me

About this poem:
You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.

Willow Tree

Strong as a willow tree, our friendship bending over time strong and sure
Gently caresses the tears away

Sunshine filters thru the branches above reminding us of the day

Lighting the way,

Oh my soul you soothed

Lifting it with the power of your belief

Stings of betrayal with talons felt

Forces beyond control

The wind lifted higher baring my soul

Oh how I miss the protective cover

The season tore us apart you traveled away for a time

Oh how I missed your presence

The laughter you brought to the day

But with such simple words forgiveness and love were shown

Tis true courage does come thru in those tiny steps redemption was made

There are some things that are stronger

Stronger than the world winds that blow

The strength of the willow bends with time and fluttered back our friendship

With each new wind that blew it became stronger testing the time

I welcome it so as it is

Tighter than blood we became, 2 souls we share

Time marches on but we stand firm, each taking our turn under the willow

Opening the light from the darkest despair

Holding the hand as the branches whip about

Raising the chin to the light, gently but firmly see it is there

Protecting us it has from cruel forces that blew

Rebuking us with gentle stings but always true

Shelter from the scorching heat of the world

Oh dear friend what would I have done had you not taken strong hold of my hand

Pulling me into the protection of the willow we shared

Thank you dear friend for always being there, for listening to my tears of sorrow, my tears of joy

Thank you dear friend for sharing the willow with me for being my friend in times of need,

We shared so much and there is so much yet to share, I miss you with all my heart until we are near.

Uplifting each other to the best that we can, listening and sharing without pains of judgment, no truer friend can be.

Discovery

Discovery sits silently..hidden within are dreams, fears, decisions, truths, lies and hope
and with a touch,it leaps to life,
springing across distances..the vastness of our reality
not just dissolving barriers but sometimes creating that which it dissolves...
minds meet, touch...sometimes to recoil...but also to connect in a dance....
we feel,share,create from this dance
new lives, new dreams, new thoughts...and then, new silences..
it returns to sit once again, awaiting with promise, the search...

what magic is this???

Pardon my diving nose ,
But I Dont smell a rose!
What do you call this?
Poetry,tadpole or fish?
Sounds like a shopping list.
You're cooking the wrong dish!
It's call poem not blogs or magic,
So why post here is beyond logic.
No rhyme ,no rhythm ,does not matter ,
But no tale or meaning either!

Kmart is Closing

Kmart is closing
And I know why
This Walmart effect makes me want to cry
The people have spoken with their money
But I don't think it is funny
The good jobs
Well they are going away
Being replaced by jobs with no pay
The benefits are too small
And the kids they are trying to raise just want to bawl
The internet is part of the problem too
Macy's stores are closing around you
So where are the people supposed to go
To reap what they sow
The billionaires laugh at the plight
Of this unfairness day and night
March is when Kmart is going to close
Get 20% off a pair of panty hose!

About this poem:
Saw two people standing with signs advertising 20% at Kmart today. The wind chill must be below zero. I am suprised they lasted this long. My job was cut two weeks after one of these Walmart superstores opened in 2006. For every one of these Walmarts that open, 300 jobs are cut from the community, and replaced by 330 Walmart jobs that have far lower pay and benefits.

A Good Woman

Embedded image from another site

I'm in love with a good woman
a black woman, interracial love
go ahead label it
pour it all over people
over any man or woman
who has ever loved or cried
worked hard, played hard or died
for any of us
it is love...

She's a strong woman, yet gentle
smart and still learning
she works hard and when she gets home
likes to give her man good loving
she likes to eat out and have nice things
she wants happiness and not tears
she desires a good man
cos she's a damned good woman...

She can be a sassy woman
quite capable of articulating her needs
doesn't expect you to read her mind
recognizes her love has great value
and it must be reciprocated
she makes all her man's fantasies come true
she loves herself and needs her man's love too!

Just stop thinking

As shadows move in endless time
I try desperately to release my mind
To stop the noise of the pounding drum
Which forbids my head from being numb

So seconds flow and hours pass
Yet my eyes still watch the shadows creep
Across the desert of my sleep.
I just want emptiness to swallow me
And know I am finally free.

About this poem:
The middle of a dark poem.

I like that writing poetry helps get the words out of my head my sadness turning into such hauntingly beautiful art.

Only middle of poem was posted as entire poem is quite suicidal which I am not. I found this piece amongst my uni studies when I was packing to move house.. It is strange to look back 2 years and wonder how you even got out of bed,... After tragedy..

A womans kiss

A womans kiss might find you
On some dusty old trail
You might catch a glimpse of
Her smile as her fingers glide
Through her hair
But there is a book never read
By man hidden in the cave of
Desire
It reveals the secrets of her mystic
Charms
Many have tried to obtain this book
But the seven headed dragon guards
The entrance to this treasure
And the sage who sits on the hill say's,
'You're better off to go your way and
Perish the thought of this knowledge..'
And he adds, 'Why not relish the honey
Cone in its season and be filled with the
Wonders of magic.?'
For a womans kiss is made of wonders unknown.'

ME

Hold me loose, but love me.
Let me see what I can be.
All my life I've been for others.
Someone's child,someone's wife,someone's mother.
I've loved them all.
But now, you see.
I want to know what I can be.
If I be me. copyrighted
