Under wings (children's poem)

Co-oooo-CO
soft the song of the morning dove
gathering twigs in quiet grove
to weave a nest where eggs will rest
placing each in way that's best
round and round each to wind
tell a nicer home you could not find

Co-oooo-Co
soft the song of the morning dove
warming eggs with body's stove
wings nestled down all through the night
tell a day in warm sunlight
chicks begin in eggs to scratch
and one by one each to hatch

Co-oooo-Co
soft the song of the morning dove
cooing to her children sounds of love
nestled in their blankets sleep
tell one lets out a joyous cheep
then all together gather round
singing in their nest above the ground

Co-oooo-Co
soft the song of the morning dove
the day she greets each with a little shove
and one by one each must fly
on their own in the blue spring sky
for each must grow strong and smart
and learn to soar like a dart
but there in each and every heart

Co-oooo-Co Co-oooo-Co
will play the song that mother liked to sing
and one day to their own children bring
when nestled safely under wing

The Hold Up

Held the gun in my hot little hand
I was trembling with excitement
Peered round corner, casing the joint
Would people never leave there

Quickly ran out with gun in hand
Yelled..this is a stick up
Don't waste time, I want one now
A double cone with chocolate

Ever so calmly they made it up
And to me handed it over
Who would argue, at the point of a gun
Held by a boy of seven

Quickly I made my getaway
To enjoy this illicit pleasure
Now who would think at seven years old
That they would know your parents

About this poem:
Now this is a true story and I refuse to say more on the grounds that I might incriminate myself. Was not a real gun.

My World

Beautiful girls from heaven above,

the girls I adore, the girls I love.

The sun smiles upon my face

on each and every day;

they light my room, they light my heart

in each and every way.

Unique and special always,

they sparkle my whole world.

I love you girls, my heart to you

will always be unfurled.

Carry Me Home

Carry me home
Like a leaf in a breeze on an autumn morn
Like the sound of laughter from our youth
The familiar smell of rhubarb pie
On a cold and clammy eve in July

Carry me home
To where we would sit and chat
About everything and anything, just this and that
An inviting fire, a tune from a guitar
The whistle of a kettle never too far

Carry me home
To the place I know so well
Where memories are made
Hopes and dreams shared
No matter the distance
My heart will always be
At home, in my safe place
To be still, to be me..

Terrified Teen (Please Notice Me)

Terrified and tormented,
It is about how it is for me.
Bullied and verbally beaten,
Please somebody bandage me.

Delightful donations this how I want to be,
In my extreme, exited to believe.
Having caring courage, this about right for me.
With a happy gratitude hangs great gesture, with open opportunities.
Unseen innocence this how they judge me
Mystifying unicorns, this is how I want to dream.

Tangled in a social network, trying to be free,
To have my independence, so somebody notices me
All the wanting willingness of all the variations, restoring poetic piece,
Will this be my victory?
In an emotional triangle, always pointing at me,
In my teenage years please look out for me.

Hiding my gentle tears, for you not to see,
Handling the problems, of my teenage years
For no one to have my fears.
Speaking aloud all the problems, I here
My voice no longer feels it needs to have the fear.

Somebody always has the answers, makes it sound so clear,
However, when I’m on my own, then comes my greatest fear.
Trying to remember, the words I heard so clear.
The jumbled up sounds, blend in to my tears.
When the trouble starts, I try to leave my fears,
But drowning in my emotions and the cloudy eyes of tears.

So now, I feel the danger creeping in my anger,
Cause now I blame myself for feeling like a tangle
In this anguished pain, not to feel so plain,
I take my life and end it with an angel.

About this poem:
It was hard being a teenager and in resent events a young teen took, her life from the pressure of cyber bullies in the northwest suburbs of Melbourne. In addition, it made me think to what it was like back in my teens and how hard it would be in today’s social tech world for teens.

WHEN 2 STARS MEET

WE MET, WHEN YOU WERE FIVE, AND I WAS SIX! WE ENGAGED IN GAMES OF PICK UP STIX! THEN YOU ENROLLED, IN ACTING SCHOOL; WHILE I REMAINED, THE ETERNAL FOOL! THEN, ONE DAY, YOU BECAME A STAR; AND I WAS FORCED TO WORSHIP FROM AFAR! I MADE UP MY MIND TO ENROLL IN ACTING SCHOOL! SHORTLY, AFTER, I ACHIEVED GREATNESS; NOW, I'M NO ONES FOOL! WE MET, AT LAST; EACH ONE, A STAR; NOW, I'LL NO LONGER WORSHIP, FROM AFAR!

My Child

You raise them up,
then they run away
and shout at you from a distance.

Forgetting how you held them
close and marveled at the fact
you were so blessed.

Giving them your all
and now browbeating is an art
aimed at you.

What happened to all
the good my child,
was I only dreaming- no not I.

Forever you are captured
in my heart despite your false
and hurtful wailing.

The stones you throw
may sting and bruise,
but cannot change what is within.

A true mother loves
despite the storms that pelt away
at time.

Forever you'll be
in my heart-forever you'll
be mine.

Ice in my veins

Ice in my veins and tears that poke
I feel it still from the words that you spoke
Shivering on the frozen ground
My pounding heart, I hear every sound

Hiding away from the reach of your grasp
But you could feel my fear, hear my gasp
No sunlight only darkness and trembling lips
You're evil, the devil, but your clutch no longer grips

I am not afraid for sunlight has found me
And she has warmed me, comforted me
The icicles now water, like liquid silk
Envelopes me in caring, nurtures me with her milk

You can't find me, just like them I am free
But you will die forever, for you can never flee
How time has ticked by from where it once stood still
But I forgive as I grow and love and joy my heart now fills

Madonna Moon

In the still kiss of dawn
Madonna moon murmurs
goodbye to a favorite child.

She fades from a place
where birds, who once
slipped through small hands,
sing of freedom
in a fair, gold sky.

I stand on the edge of morning
scattering my dreams
towards tomorrow.
