A feel good poem

I like to make up poems on the spot, i never know what im writing from one line to the next, i tend to think this is the best and most expressive way to write. Seriously though, if you fancy a poem on any subject/topic/or silliness, send me an email here and I will post one just for you.. Enjoy :-)

Its funny sometimes,
how the little things matter,
how we listen to gossip,
and mindless chatter

Its funny sometimes,
how we stress for no reason,
we feel down on a sunday,
or we change with each season

Its funny sometimes,
how we can feel so alone,
wanting someone to visit,
wanting someone to phone

Its funny sometimes,
how we just need a hug,
to scootch up on the sofa,
and cuddle and snug

Its funny sometimes,
when things get us down,
always looking at the floor,
always showing a frown,

Its funny sometimes,
if we just lift our heads,
look at the world,
and smile instead

Embrace every meeting,
enjoy every talk,
sharing those special moments,
laughing together on a nice long walk.

Open our eyes,
and take in every sight,
theres no time for sadness,
its time to fight!

Its funny sometimes,
that everything is fine,
and the people who love you,
have been right here the whole time.

Daddy Come Home...Please Dont Fight

Daddy come home, theres no need to fight
Please read me my story, and turn off my light
I dont like it this way, and need help with my toys
I want you to come home, and make friends with them boys

I made you a picture, and my hair is getting longer
Mummy keeps crying, sadness keeps getting stronger
My new shoes come today, im all ready for school
I wish you could take me, but I know there your rules

Daddy come home please, daddy come home
I cry when you leave me, here all alone
I see all the news, and think about you
Dont know what we'll do, if they take you to

Daddy I love you, daddy please come back home
I dont want you fighting, in this nasty war zone
I woke in the night again, touching your band
Daddy come home please, and dont let go of my hand

Briefie aan n wegloop kind

Aan you skryf ek n briefie
in die hoop dat jy dit sal kry.
Ek sal nie vir jou soek nie
jys nie meer gelukkig by my.

Die briefie se nie veel nie
klein om in jou sak te dra.
in die hoop dat jy eendag sal terug kom
en dit self vir my kan vra.

Sonder tierlanteintjies
geskryf op geel papier.
Die hoekies effens om gekril
onderaan met trane versier.

Ek wou maar net se ek mis jou
verewig aan my gebind.
My deure staan altyd oop vir jou
ek wag vir jou my wegloop kind.

Ek wens jy kan my vergewe
ek wou jou graag net hier he.
Ek is ook nie foutloos
as ek maar net kon jammer se.

Onthou ek is lief vir jou
waar ook al jy mag bly.
In my hart is daar geen kwaad vir jou
alle liefies....

van my.

It seems like just the other day
Your frail body .....just lay
Within the walls of Gods hospice
Yearning for your inner peace
You thought that maybe you would last
To the day you held fast
But alas the eve you could not surpass
For time had come... it was your last
I hope you still hear your piano sing
The beautiful sounds that it did bring
Your delicate hands dancing on key
Lost forever in melody
I hope you still feel the salty air
The early dawns you wanted to share
The ocean sounds that gave life
To an enthusiasm rich with strife
I hope you still see your family grow
Your children.... with their children in tow
The sounds of laughter you did admire
You smiled with eyes that would never tire
I hope you still smell the spices abound
Enticing hunger pains within the frowns
Satisfying all who would sit down
For more was .....always the sound
I hope that you never forget
That your life was never regret
Special memories full of respect
As i sit ponder and reflect.........

The Beat Of Life Goes On

Mom got up early and is in the kitchen
Preparing the breakfast for everyone
Dad's still in the bathroom and is shaving
And the beat of life goes on

The kids are busy getting set for school
One is still trying to get homework done
The others are taking things really cool
And the beat of life goes on

Now all sit around the breakfast table
To fuel themselves for the day's action
Each consumes what he or she is able
And the beat of life goes on

Dad leaves the home for his workplace early
Mom patiently checks the kids one by one
To ensure that for school each is ready
And the beat of life goes on

Dad is at work earning his salary
Kids are at school getting education
Mom is at home with some chores she's busy
And the beat of life goes on

It's suppertime now for the family
And it's filled with lively conversation
Each one partakes of the meal heartily
And the beat of life goes on

After supper, mom tidies the kitchen
Then joins the rest watching television
Later, for next day each starts preparing
And the beat of life goes on

The kids get busy with their assignment
Mom and Dad continue to linger on
They chat a bit about now the day went
And the beat of life goes on

Then finally they all head off to bed
For much needed sleep and relaxation
To refresh each for the new day ahead
And the beat of life goes on

Mom got up early and is in the kitchen
Preparing the breakfast for everyone
Dad's still in the bathroom and is shaving
And the beat of life goes on

DO NOT READ THIS!

"Daddy?
What is that?"
"It's nothing Sweetie,
Now go to bed."

"But Daddy?
I still hear it!"
"Listen young lady,
Now do what I said!"

"Daddy?
Do you love me?"
"Oh honey,
You know that I do."

"Then Daddy?
Please tell me,"
"Yes Princess?"
"Please tell me the truth."

"I told you it's a cat,
Or a squealing mouse,
That umm...,
That cat's about to crunch."

"Be careful or,
He might just,
Just might,
Have YOU for lunch!"

"Not funny,
Dummy Daddy!
Sounds just like,
A girl who's hurt and crying."

"I told you,
You stupid little brat,
It's just that ugly fu*kin' mouse,
Screaming out as it's dying!"

"Daddy?,
Do you still love me?"
"Please, Sweet Pumkin,
You know doggone well that I do."

"Then Daddy?
Please tell me,
Why you won't just,
Won't just tell me the truth?"

About this poem:
Wow! This one is WAY DIFFERENT from any of my usual styles. It felt like I was on a high as I wrote it, or rather, it wrote itself. I just arranged the words on a piece of brown paper bag as I sat at a bus stop.
I believe the first time a child catches a parent in a lie, or observes them doing something immoral or illegal, they are very confused and sadly may even, like the child in this poem, question that parents love for them.

And now for something completely different...Is the crying this little girl heard coming from outside or inside the house? Is it her mother? Her sister?
Does she believe it could be her daddy that's making it happen. And what could this child possibly feel when she looks at him?
She asks him twice if he loves her.

My Life

This is for my father
Who was never there
Who never even took a second
To show how much he cared
So he can just sit back
And listen to what I have to say
See I've made my mistakes
And had a price to pay
But never would I ever
Do the things that you did
And never would I ever
Betray my own kid
All the lies you've told
All the secrets you've held
I know that you wouldn't even care
If I was burning in Hell
But that's ok
Because now it's all in the past
And now when I look at you
I sit back and I laugh
And who would've thought
I'd be in this situation
Graduating from high school to jail
And it's fifteen years that I'm facing
I'm not gonna lie
Sometimes I want to break down and cry
Over one little mistake
I end up losing my life
And sometimes, dad, I think
That if you would've been there
Then maybe life at times
Wouldn't seem so unfair
But I've said all I can say
Did all I could do
I just hope you realize, one day
This child belongs to you

About this poem:
For all you piece of shit fathers out there, this poem is dedicated to you. A child never has the option to be brought into this world and it's yours, mine, anyone's responsibility to show your child how much they mean to you. You never know what tomorrow holds...

Precious Life

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
"Precious Life "

I've tried solving mathematical equations
but they all failed my hearts design
I then searched for absolution
but all I lost was time
I turned over every rock
and all I found was hurt
I then looked up to the stars
to find my place on earth
But no matter where I was
God was always near
He took me by my hand
and led me far away from fear
He brought me perfect a peace
when I didn't know what to do
Then He gave me precious life
and said that I love you
