RDM59: They keep having children Ros because they don't have a welfare state to look after and feed them in their old age like we do.....
Heyy Sir R, do you think it's possible for people joining this CS site (oh well, at least forumers and bloggers) to start collecting coins and give the money to those people with hunger? I think it's a better thing to do than just "fighting/bullying" on here.

That doesn't make sense... what has that to do with maternal instinct..
My suggestion is that its hugely sad to see a young child almost dead from starvation, but the blame should be the mother and or father... they know that they cannot feed themselves half the time, let alone be bringing new souls into this world...
I find that hard to understand that people just dont want to understand their own capabilities... and if you dont have money to feed a child... logically, you dont go bringing children into the world...
Many years ago... Indira Ghandi said... to the World.... dont give my people money... they need to realise themselves... it only encourages them... ( or words to that effect)

I dont have any interest in the Olympic Games.
Though it would be nice to here that the U.K. Teams and Individuels do well .
One of my Sons is contracted to the Transport side of things with probably 1000s of others , first Day/Nite {yesterday{Friday }Olympic Opening , and the whole thing with the Internal transport is a disaster ,and the Games arnt even 24 hours old yet .

No disrespect to London but I was bored to death with that openng ceremony. Besides being boring it wasn't colorful. I guess that's because the point they were making was that the industrial revolution was a dark time in their lives. I left the tv on but went about doing something else. I've never done that for any opening ceremony. One has to wonder what is in store for the closing ceremony.. Doubt anyone will ever top Beijing or Norway's opening ceremony.
Am i stupid??? Then what is your suggestion not """bringing new souls into this world""". Those people real poor .don't know about contraceptives,or don't have money to buy them, only when is given freely to them and for how long they get them for free??? So if you don't take the above in to acount, your only remaining suggestion is steralisation, and lobotomy is a form of steralization.JMO

I watched part of the opening ceremony....saw the Queen paying a lot of attention to picking her finger nails, says a lot doesn't it. Although I must say I enjoy seeing the parade of different countries and their teams.
Glatlol: I actually agree with the OP, pure crap. I watched the whole thing telling myself it had to get better, but nope crap from start to finish, as another poster said the Queen found examining her fingernails more interesting, and that was as the GB team entered the stadium.
Maybe she broke a nail during her clever entrance to the event.
I watched it too.. start to end, never watched any of the others, so cant comment,
Loved the forging of the Olympic rings, and the fireworks, the stadium looking stunning from above, the cauldron was just WOW!.. loved how it was lit by the 7 youngsters, and Beckham looked on that boat...
Mr Fiji flag bearer..
Queenie and James Bond was funny and nice to see she joined in, be she did look bored at the event and shame was was checking her nails when the GB team came in..
Me Bean... funny..
Found the dancing went on a bit, but overall, I enjoyed it.
but as for Macca.... well I guess they needed something to help clear the stadium at the end... seriously that guy needs to retire, he sounded awful, and is past it now,
What's this place turning into--Snow White and the Seven Grumpys? I totally understand the world is a hell hole--uh, DUH, but can't we have a nice talk about the Olympics, or vacations, or great food, or loving poems and anecdotes, or cool retro cars, or something to break the toiling? Does it ALWAYS have to come 'round to how terrible everything is? Knowwhatimean?
Yo RD...I had to sleep on your comments before answering. (I like you so well, the last thing I'd want to do is be at odds with you). Of course you are right, and I am sure some members could benefit from a jarring wake-up call. Many of us are acutely aware of which way the wind is blowing. Please remember that I logged many, many years, both paid and volunteer, in the medical/social work field. (I'm a med-tech). However, I joined this CS club for R&R, not to relive my often heart-wrenching and physically demanding career. So, I'd like a little coffee break. You don't mind, do you?
