The United Nations general assembly voted overwhelmingly to recognise Palestine as a state. The 193-member assembly voted 138 in favour of the plan, with only nine against and 41 abstentions.
So Palestine is recognised as a State by the UN just like Israel is recognised as a state by the UN.
Its very ironic that it was the UN that created the state of Israel but no Israel and the US refuse to recognise the exact same procedure by the UN.

Why do I care what a bunch of Semites do in the desert? And I'm tired of the endless burden they're putting on us. England has enough problems of its own.
If they're so intent on one day nuking each other, then it's better that our missiles stay in their silo.
If you go back in History,England created the problem, with the usual colonial doctrine "Divide and Rule".

I don't think either has a creed to destroy Isreal either. Both will accept UN 242, the only countries that don't are Isreal and the U.S. If those two countries did support it then there would be peace.
Rumple4skin: Right here & now so stop having a pop at me cos I'm English.
I,m certainly not having a pop at you.In fact I think it was terrible that so many young English boys and girls were sent to fight a war in a dessert when there was no need.I meant no disrespect.
Wiki disagrees with you, don't shoot the mesenger-
Palestine (Arabic: ???? ??????? Dawlat Filas?in), is a country located in the Middle East bordering Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. Recognized by the United Nations General Assembly as a state on November 29, 2012, its territory has been occupied by Israel since 1967. The United Nations 193-member General Assembly voted overwhelmingly (138 in favor, 9 opposed, 41 abstentions) to upgrade Palestine from an "observer entity" to a "non-member observer state". Palestine is one of the smallest countries in the Middle East and is not contiguous, having a small exclave of territory bordering Egypt, Israel, and the Mediterranean Sea. The land areas encompass the "West Bank" (from Israel on the West to Jordan on the East) and the area called "Gaza" bordering Israel and Egypt. Palestine's exact borders with Israel are disputed. Its declared capital is Jerusalem, though almost all government administration is conducted in and from the City of Ramallah (see government of Palestine). Employment is mostly mercantile and agrarian with some small manufacturing, mining, and processing output.
