Your argument simply is not true because the criminal element in society will have and use guns or whatever weapon they choose..... and taking away citizens "rights" only leaves them in a position to be kill easier by someone using guns or other inanimate object.
Your argument doesn't add up. Minbe is based on facts and figures. Cant be argued with. France, Germany, UK, Ireland and Canada all have criminals with guns too! But not only is the gun crime and gun death rate way lower than the US but the murder rate is was lower than the US. Murders are usually by someone known to the victim and not some criminal looking to murder!

galrads: I think this guy is trying to say that he wants more people to use more bats and knives and other objects to kill other people with instead of firearms. And sometimes I think he is saying that we will have less murders if guns are removed from citizens, maybe so that criminals can take over. Regardless, anyone who blames the weapon, an inanimate object, for murder has to be avoided at all cost... or else he'll end up hurting someone and then claim he didn't do it, the gun did.

Now you are talking. A greater effort should be given to mental health (the real issue) and not be obsessed with focusing on guns. Guns exist here for various reasons but our 2nd amendment exists to allow us to stand up to government gone real bad.
We here in the USA could probably tackle this issue here easily, along with rebuilding our failing infrastructure and education systems, if we weren't supporting the rest of the world.

Nobody is arguing with your right to own firearms. Well at least I am not. I don't care if you can own them or not. If you said to me having the biggest murder rate and death by firearms rate in the Western World by a mile is a small price to pay for being able to own firearms I would accept that too.
But when you try to tell us that your high gun crime rate and murder rate has nothing to do with the free availability of firearms is where I take exception. Only an absolute blind fool could make such an argument. And not only did you try to make that argument but you can't give any other reason why your murder rate or gun crime rate is so high.
