I am the consummate LIBERAL. many here dislike me for this. Some on other sited have 'unfriended" me because of my extreme liberal views. HOWEVER...I believe in the right to bear arms. Not only for Americans, but for all people.
If you chose not to own one...then don't own one. I believe you have the right to protect yourself, your family, and your possessions.
Having said that, there are few exceptions. mentally ill people (with violent tendencies). convicted felons.

I would be happy to turn in my weapons - as soon all all the criminals are off the streets.

HexagonKeySet: I'm not a US citizen Ray but that is exactly how I understand the issue - that having fought off the British King and determine your independence the Constitution and Bill of Rights was created for fair governance and that 'the people' would always have more power than anyone in positions in the government.
The issue of gun crime is very different from gun control and gun control (ie taking guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens) will NEVER solve gun crime ... simply because GUN CRIMINALS don't heed the law anyway!
