john12196341: that is a not a judgement that is a fact. people are apathetic and dont care. it shows up everyday. they would rather mind their own business than helping out. that is what society is today not like years ago. if i could i would like to help get rid of these tugs and animals. i have no use of terrorists. i say when they catch them they should take them out without a trial

MADDOG69: So why aren;t you claling for bombs dropping on Darfur? Last count 300,000 have died... 3 times the supposed amount in Syria.

But no... Darfur doesn't come in Pink coloured Koolaid™ bottles.

applause

Africa is awash with examples of genocide past and ongoing...yet little is done to assist. Why? No economic/political advantage to be gained from it, that's why.

But you've made several assumptions about some of the posters within this thread. Is that really fair to paint everyone here with the very same paintbrush just because they don't tell you what you wish to hear.

Yes there are some people who don't care. but there are some who also care. Our very own political figures are a great example of having no real care for anyone but themselves.

If I created a poll thread and asked the people in the USA how many of them agree that the USA should invade syria and tend to our own people by using our tax monies of hardworking citizens of the US I'll bet most would choose the (Keep out and spend our monies on the people here in the US here to help our own.

You never did answer my direct question.

well i proved my point and that point is that people are selfish and uncaring when it comes to other human beings. so i leave u with this thought. just think of the thousands who died at the hands of dictators and the cost of getting rid of those animals and ask urself this question. what can i do to help prevent this atrocity from ever happening again and i could have done something to prevent this instead of badmouthing the u.s. and thinking about myself. so i say so long isolationists. bye bye

Think about the level of disconnect occurring throughout many parts of the world?

Billions of people living in abject poverty and conducting their lives according to ancient tribal and/or religious laws, oblivious to or unable to obtain so many of humankind's advancements. Where men in power seek to remain in power by keeping their subjects ignorant, and then to realize how these same ignorant subjects further subjugate the other half of their own population (women) by treating them no better than their own beasts of burden.

I agree Assad should be removed from power, he is a tyrannical despot who came to power through nothing more than the status of his fathers' wealth, position of power, and cronyism that keeps him there; while his people suffer his injustices.

I see no hope of civil change in those parts of the world until there is a "giant leap" in the understanding of what it means to be human. crying

john12196341: we went into iraq and afganistan to take out those animals.

We went to Iraq to satisfy the personal agenda of GWB, Cheney and Rumsfeld. We left instability and factional war in the region because of it. No animals in Iraq at the time, only a dictator who had the support of the US during his war with Iran. Afghanistan was sheltering a terrorist, a reason for the beginning of a war there with support of the Northern Army.
A good lesson to be learned is to study the after effect on Libya, Iraq, Tunisia and Egypt. I don't see any democracy Western style there after so many civilian casualties.
Is it a good idea to get involve there? Not a good idea in my opinion. It is now a religious power struggle involving every extremist in the region.
We are not dealing with the conventional warfare of WWII. Don't expect the euphoric joy of a liberated people after we get involved.
As much as I am not a fan of Assad, I don't find it a good reason to set the region ablaze.
Don't ignore the fact that the rebels and the terrorists are playing the public opinion with the medias and disinformation. They demand nothing better than to reach power to pursue their agenda with the help of the Western nations and the surrounding countries.
It is too early to fall into the trap without proof that Assad used toxic chemical and to replace a dictator by a more palatable cleric and the Sharia law.
Remember the WMD in Iraq!

Is going to war a sign that people care about the lives of Syrian civilians, certainly not if you are going to contribute their body count like in Iraq.

According to the news media Congress has given the ok for Obama in regards to Syria.

What frustrates the heck out of me is that that our government can always manage to find the funds to invade other countries but there's never monies being spent on our own.

I used to be a parent volunteer at a grade school where there wasn't enough school supplies for the first day of school. So I took it upon myself to hunt down some pencils.

In one of the High Schools there weren't enough class books to go around for each student. The ones without textbooks had to either borrow a book from another classmate or do the homework in class.

Our leaders for centuries have wined and dined leaders of other countries, share a photo op and then turn around and bomb them and then claim that they were terrorists.

Today I was unfairly labeled by another poster within this thread that I was uncaring and in so many words was running the military down to which my son served in for over 5 yrs.

I also asked a direct question to that very poster but never got an answer.

Reb , Our Lives are Like Sand which cant stay against Heavy Winds and Fly ,They have Forget that they cant Live in this world forever ,We have short Life ,Very Short ,Lets live with Love and peace ,Lets care about each Other

In an ideal world that would be nice but honestly? the Arab world cannot contradict itself regarding preaching peace while killing with rocket launchers. Obama is an a**hole bottom line for thinking he can justify picking a fight with Syria. He just opened a big can of worms that neither side can live with. It is rather odd indeed knowing he is a sandni**er himself who dares to cross the line.
Al Qaeda is the one who probably is responsible for the attack of sarin gas or chemical or otherwise and because it happened in an Arab country who is not on the Al Qaeda side much like Egypt or Jordan of which it could have happened in either country Obama decided it would be fitting to pick on Syria knowing they are in the midst of their own civil strife against a pint size dictator Assad. With that in mind the hornets nest is stirred and now when Syria sees f18 hornets doing a flyby dropping mk82 smart bombs
and the various ships the US has along with their toys of mass destruction prepare to meet the whirlwind.
This is war is not shared by most of Americans this is solely the sandni**er's agenda. I can say this because I am 1/4 sandni**er myself. Yet, I am more German and American but mostly American
I love my country but I do not like the voters who put this a**hole in office. I hope they are happy with the change.

stringman: And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

john12196341: with all due respect. that is the kind of reply that isolationists think. that is why 6 million jews were killed during the second world war and the world did noting to stop it until later on. it seems to me that people dont give a crap about anything or anyone unless it happens to hit them in the face. we are living in a world that is apathetic. in order to get rid of animals like assad a price will have to paid. that is a cost for freedom and humanity.
