rebel2: Dont dictate to me about my compassion, trust and humanity.I have spent my life helping others, not just talking a good fight.
The situation in Syria is not clean cut. There are terrorist factions involved, who could also have used gas.Dont be naive.
cheers

Ccincy: It strikes me as funny (not laughing funny) that when you ask someone a direct question they usually if not always all of a sudden change things around to suit their very own agenda instead and make assumptions about people they know nothing about.

He never did say if he had children in the military did he? Maybe he'd think differently if it was his child that had to go and fight in someone elses war or worse still come home in a casket.blues

john12196341: well i proved my point and that point is that people are selfish and uncaring when it comes to other human beings. so i leave u with this thought. just think of the thousands who died at the hands of dictators and the cost of getting rid of those animals and ask urself this question. what can i do to help prevent this atrocity from ever happening again and i could have done something to prevent this instead of badmouthing the u.s. and thinking about myself. so i say so long isolationists. bye bye

Did You ever serve Your country? i suspect not, You're the old sabre rattling bloke standing at the railway station as the young go off to war, If you had ever been in a war You wouldn't be advocating one that's for sure. frustrated

No jim he never did.All he did was paint everyone in this thread about not being caring people. It was totally assumptions on his part which was totally unfair to the people who posted their opinions here.

People like him rely so much on the media instead of speaking to someone who has a child(ren) of their own in the war situation or talked to someone else who has served their country themselves.

There was never a good war, or a bad peace.

Benjamin Franklin

Those who can win a war well can rarely make a good peace and those who could make a good peace would never have won the war.

Winston Churchill

Franklin or Churchill? I think I disagree with Franklin

Guz, Churchill was one of the greatest orators and many of his sometimes hilarious quotes will live on forever, but he was a warmonger and often rather inebriated when he addressed the nation. laugh

"Residents of a christain village are taking refuge in a convent, after Al Qaeda linked rebels bombarded the village.
Father Amir Kassar,a catholic priest states if the west get involved the troubles will escalate,as there are many factions waiting to use any attack by the west as a cover to kill anyone not linked to there particulair faction.
He says the Syrian people are frightened that the west will get involved,as the fighting between the factions will turn the country into a bloodbath, with many innocent people dying."

Food for thought? Its a hell of a lot more complicated than just dropping a few bombs.Perhaps the west should abide by the wishes of the Syrian people.

Conrad73: If you want to eliminate War,let Freedom ring!

That is a contradictory statement.

If people are free then they will be free to fight.

If you want to limit violence then the best way to do this is to have an abundance of resources acquired at minimal effort and to turn the Human race into a Borg-like monoculture. Eliminating diversity, culture and competition is how you limit violence by removing the things that people fight over, unfortunately, these things are what make life worth living and these things are from where all Human progress comes from.

So true, just look at CS... The internet is the place where people are freer than they are anywhere else and it's also the place where people fight the most. The internet serves to show that it is in fact law, order, rules and being held to consequences that foil the worst instincts of Humanity. Freedom from authority is chaos.

No different then what Bush did in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's no different when a parent hits their children to teach them that hitting is bad.

We all missed our playpen during those dark days of no CS.

CS is like a boxing ring where you don't come away with any bruises. I know that when I don't win that contract or the girl that I like turns out to be a brainless mare, then I sign on here for a good rage at feminism and the state of society.
