The Chinese seem to have lost the art of romance, even my students say this, when we discuss love/marriage, they have the opinion that romance and love is only at the beginning of the relationship, as soon as they marry, love become responsibility, that true love just fades away to become friendship and being responsible for a family life. Sad IMO

2intrigued: Words fail me and I'm so sorry this happened to you.
Thank you, but I just look back on it as some one who really can't appreciate the little or small things that are so important in keeping a marriage exciting and appreciative. I can honestly say that it hasn't stopped me at all from still thinking about romantic things to do with a partner or just generally being romantic when I finally meet that special woman.

What age are your students as a matter of interest?
They range from 8 to adult, depending on where I am teaching, I teach primary children at a private school and graduates in a university. I also teach adults privately but I will have to shoot you if you repeat that

LadyDiz2: Heavens! If I was lucky enough to have a man express his love for me in such a romantic way I would never let him go.
I hope you haven't allowed this experience to kill your romantic inclinations as there are many, many women out there who would appreciate it, even if your ex didn't.
Thank you LadyD, but to answer your question it never killed my desire and passion to be romantic, it is a part of me. Being romantic form something like that, to spending a night wrapped up in a sleeping bag in front of a fireplace or roaring fire with wine and chocolate, to taking a trip on a cruise ship dancing and dining, to spending an evening on the beach starring up into the starry night counting the stars and wrapped in each other's arms. It is a pat of me that I long to share again.
