...and I'm wondering if Dragos found his much loved cat??
I prefer dogs to cats myself, although love all animals. I just don't have the time to exercise a dog and after we buried our last cat, decided to have a wee spell from all pets.
They are lovely to have around though are a responsibility.
jac379: I have four favourite pets: The Pig (he was a hog of a dog), Dill Weed, Charlie and Comfrey.
They're all in doggie heaven now.
i had a mongrel who was an Alsation,Corgi mix called Chico sadly i had to have him put down in 1991 because of cancer,he was a lovely dog and funny to boot.
I had a smallcollie...17 years. he never went grey on his muzzle..he sat by my side one day....closed his eyes..and passed away......it broke my heart,,,,,

Dogs are intelligent animals, when my mam passed away in October 1984 i was lying on the settee watching telly when i started to cry and my late dog Chico was lying down on another settee and looked at me and started to move his head left to right,he knew something was up so he came on my settee jumped on my chest and started to lick the tears from my face and when i calmed down he went back to his settee and settled down, what a dog he was.

Thank you Carmengetme Depending on the person a break can do much good too , others not so . Just for the moment I'm considering my options and will need to get creative in preparation for pet living quarters You've got a good point , they are indeed a responsibility .
mollybaby: Sorry to hear that, Bran It is very tough to lose a dogI had my last one 14 years, and I was heartbroken after him.
But, on the bright side, when you are ready, there are some gorgeous dogs in rescue centres just waiting for a good home like yours
Aw thank you MollyB , it has been a long week and likely more of those to come .
We do have a rescue centre in the area and have considered it . The people that have given shelter animals new homes are to be commended but I don't think I could go and pick one dog out of several pleading eyes . I'd also have to know it from being a pup . We often don't realise just how attached we become to our pets until we lose them
