Hiya Life This really is a tough one. I like to think my early childhood experiences with my family, friends and teachers formed my basic values but overall, it's a combination of anything and everything right down to genetics as well. All of these things played a part in my future endeavours which also played a part on who I am today. We are influenced each and every day until we draw our last breath.

Yes 2I, that is quite right we do have so many influences in our life but:
Can you identify one source that has had the most impact in who you are?
About 50/50 nature and nurture. Nature and nurture I actually believe to be a false dichotomy, but I'm not getting into that drunk at 4am after the club.

Hi Life
Mostly my own life experiences, I would say.
My family provided the groundwork early in my childhood and then the rest was up to me. My folks were wonderful providers but not terrific parents, unfortunately.
I've been influenced by mentors, friends, literature etc but mainly have chosen the path less travelled...because I like to experience it for myself.

2intrigued: Just guessing because it truly is difficult, I'd say my family was probably the greater influence for me.
My family was a great influence on me too 2I. However, I wonder if it was the biggest one.
NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: None of the above .
We do have the "other " option N.

Nurture and Nature OB?
For God’s sake do not be that boring!
Try again, please. (if you can on the wagon)

Hi Berry! Yes, mentors, friends, books... do influence us but which ones are the most relevant ones.
When you say mentors I do remember my 3rd. grade teacher, she was special and she did mark my life but she was not the only one.

No one person or thing stands out for me....it's just been a journey that I have travelled largely alone, influenced by my own perception and understanding of the world.

jac_the_gripper: Me, because I process all my influences.

My family did a great job on me (it does not mean I have taken it all, though)School did too a wonderful work on me, teachers, professors, mentors…. Again (it does not mean I have taken it all, though)
Society has done not much on me because I have not allowed it: –in my place and in my time-.
How I see life is a personal interpretation of it as you do –I think- Jac and Berry.
I m 80-90% myself.I have my own understanding about life and i follow only my own beliefs.my views about life is different from my culture and from people around me.
Hiya lifeisadream, factors are different depending on age I think.
When I was young, my family had the biggest influence, I don't think school/teachers were a big influence. Of course society, I grew up in a place where I had the opportunity to make my own choices.
As I get older, I am less influenced by other people and do more my own thing.
I have always tried to be kind/supportive...towards people.nature being what it is.......some have taken advantage of this......as a sign of weakness.....at least I can sleep at night, knowing that I have tried........

Well maybe I should say my two have made the biggest impact on me,,
I would say my family have always been an influence on my life or at least try to ,,:as I tend to listen to myself first,, not always with positive results but have been my choices,,,envoirment ,media ,books ,music ,would be kind of an influence to.

That seems to sum-up mine as well; having taken all the roads that sane people would reject. Parents were lousy and totally irresponsible, never caring about how they influenced me . I saw the world without coloured lenses or Disney glasses but as place populated to a large extent by the proverbial “quick and the dead” and all the shades of the ‘good, bad, and ugly, and very ugly types that only revelled in causing and inflicting as much pain, sorrow and death on as many people as possible…I guess not having anyone to share those roads with was a good thing thing, or so as I’m still trying to convince myself of that...
hi life....where does it come from.....???? a good question.....with me, it was watching my mother...she would help people...for no rewards.......it was her nature...I suppose......and she was loved.....so I take after her.....bless her.xxxxxxxx,

Can you identify the most important factor that has shaped you as you are at this moment?
Then it is Yourself.Hi K At this moment it is yourself then.I think everybody can see that you are a good person True but from where does it come?
Can you separate those experiences in a major source? Or several most important sources?
How old are they? There is the choice of family that includes parents Monte. What about friends?
