I dare not impose upon anyone's religious beliefs, therefore I politely offer Happy Holiday to all those around me.

Merry Christmas...I love Christmas and I am not about to change it now...sorry...People are entitled to celebrate the way they wish...and they don't offend me...so why should what I say and how I celebrate offend them...I don't celebrate it as a religious holiday anyway...it's always been Christmas to me and always will be.....santa waving reindeer snowman grin

i have to agree...

i mean if i am wishing you a sentiment-its my sentiment i am giving you

how can that be wrong if the intention is in kindness or good will?

wishing someone something is wishing them what i hope for them and would hopefully be accepted in that manner

a gift of goodness

if i have to do it your way, bow and scrape to mean you goodness-how heartfelt could it be on my part

please accept my sentiments-ya know?

I always say Merry Christmas unless I am referring to "the holidays" as in

"I will be traveling during the holidays this year" instead of "I will be traveling between Christmas and New Years."

But living here in So Cal, and especially working at a hospital, there are lots who want you to just say holidays.

That is not me and I am offended at them requiring me to say anything accept what I want to say in this free society.

It's called 'Political Correctness Drama'. Everyone's afraid they may offend someone.

I remember a story where Santa Claus was banned from saying his usual Ho Ho Ho for fear of the possiblity of being to offensive to women. So he had to use Ha Ha Ha instead. Before you know it he won't be able say that either for fear of hurting someones self esteem and being accused of laughing or making fun of someone.

Then store employees were told they could no longer greet customers entering or leaving stores by saying 'Merry Christmas' but instead had to say 'Happy Holidays.

Gee I wonder if the political correctness stuff will ever come to an end? I doubt it.

Happy Holidays. The day which came to eventually be known as Chritmas existed long before the time of Christ. So, from that standpoint, Christ was never really in Christmas to begin with. He was inserted in, by the Roman Catholic Church, in an attempt to win the pagans over to Catholicism. He was not born on that day. He did not command us to celebrate that day. In fact. the apostles and the early church (up to the 4th century) did not commerate his birth.

Happy Holidays. I never know who celebrates Christmas, so I play it safe and say Happy Holidays until I'm for certain.
